  1. Yep as title the police are fitting these data-tags free of charge. You just have to turn up at the wallsend branch (durham street,go round the back). Got mine done this morning,it also brings your insurance sown Oooh i love free stuff me Get in quick while you can.First come first serve basis
  2. This is where this jumble sale thingy ma bod is going on. I think it's just for harley's but might be worth a look anyway. multimap link just outside the lockside pub.
  3. It's on the quayside starting at 10am. (just along from the swing bridge) I'm riding my slr: http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x13/fronterapics/Slr650/DSC00089800x600.jpg Feel free to say hi if you see me I might be up for a little ride afterwards, but i'd have to call back home first to get my bike gear on. ??
  4. Argh! Turns out theres a biker jumble sale type thing on sunday (the quayside) so i'm gonna go there and buy some goodies .
  5. I might be up for this, but preferably avioding as many motorway's as possible. I was thinking of a trip towards kielder/rothbury area???
  6. Try to see if it will work on full right lock (the cb will lock both ways) As suggested they can be a p.i.t.a. Theres a nack to it

    Hot CB500

I think he said the fan does work. But to get them working on the cb you just touch the wire on the rad fan switch to earth. I would agree with the low coolant level, but failing that it may be worth doing a plug chop. Also make sure you have enough engine oil in.
  8. Just wondering if anyone fancyed a bit of off-roading? I know quite a few greenlanes in the rothbury ish area.
  9. Have'nt been on here for a little while (i lost my bookmarks, then forgot all about it doh! ) but i'm still up for a ride out. Thing is,it would have to be a dry day because i just bought a new(to me) bike, and i'm struggling getting used to the extra power .
  10. I am. I'm quite slow in this weather though.Just plod around(ish) Lemme know if theres any local ride-outs. Dave
  11. First thing to do is buy/download a haynes manual. Have a read through the relevant bits, make a note of torque settings, timing marks e.t.c. then get stuck in. Quite easy really.

    Tools

I have a shed FULL of all kind of tools. A good 90% of all my tools come from boot sales, where you'd get a box full of mixed sockets and spanners for under a tenner. I've literally got every tool i could ever need ((ever needed so far as a car mechanic) and i bet i got the lot for under £100. I'm not just talking vehicle repair tools either. Seriously get to a boot sale and save yourself a lot of money rather than buying new...
  13. Just a thought... Another forum i use has a traffic light system for doing ride out's where they have a colour for the type of riding involved... For instance: RED Fast riding, usually above the limit and quite mad (suits me ) amber Slower but steady pace involving filtering and generally quite quick staying close to the speed limits. green Strictly by the speed limits with plenty of stops for a cuppa/smoke/pics type thing. No rush at all. Something like this might be usefull to include when arranging ride outs so people know if their gonna fit in with the others riding styles. Just a thought anyway (or do most on here stick within the limits anyway?)
  14. I hate to do this last minute, but i'm gonna have to back out of this one. I'm a bit skint anyway, but the son is looking forward to going out somewhere so it's a day at the park for me i think. Ben,incase you dont see this message i'll drop you a text shortly to let you know. Sorry lads, hope you have fun... Dave
  15. Fuc*ers what they are! They make plans to come and view the bike, then not only do they not turn up,but dont even pick up the phone to let me know I HATE EBAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, sorry i couldn't make it matey.I'll be out tomorrow night if your up for it,or if not it'll be a good ride out on sunday. (i'm away for a ride out in the next 5 mins just down to the lighthouse if you fancy it...)
  16. Press the edit button on your post, then delete the number out, then hit submit...(or pm a mod to do it if your stuck) Probably will rain, hope not though,i dont have waterproofs
  17. Erm.i should find it... Might wanna delete your number out of the thread now matey... Have you still got mine? (this number will self destruct in five mins)
  18. I'll text you at about 5:30 to confirm. Keep your phone handy,i'll ring you if i get lost (seriously)
  19. My bad,it's sunday for the ride out ( i was close) I dont do all this facebook malarky, but let me know what time you finish work/gym and i'll meet you somewhere. Could have a little ride down to the lighthouse/wherever. I'll be the fat bloke on the yellow bike
  20. Cant beat the sound of a thumper Nice bike matey. If all goes well i'll have one soon *fingers crossed*
  21. Thought i'd add.In the unlikely event my bike is sold between now and saturday i will have to pull out of this, but like i say this is very unlikely... Also, can we decide whos following who? I'm really useless with directions so would prefer someone who knows their way round to lead? I assume normal group riding rules apply(like leaving plenty of room between each rider,no trying to overtake on the way into a corner...that sort of thing? I've had a few bad experiences going on rides out with people i dont know )
  22. I'll be up for that matey, just let me know when.If you want to meet up tomorrow sometime for a local ride let me know. That way we can organise where to meet up on saturday for the ride to washington?? If you cant make tomorrow, then just whenever. Looks good to me! Considering it's a north east ride out,4 people isn't too bad well it's a start
  23. Have to agree with stu on this one. My bike starts without choke every day and sits idling long enough for me to put my lid on (less than a minute) then i'm off. I just keep the revs really low and use 1/4 throttle for the first 10 minutes of riding.
