Question for those who have undertaken this IAM training. Whilst I appreciate that it is different for everyone, what is a reasonable amount of time to allow for training and test? I am planning to do some serious riding in August this year and would like to get my IAM out of the way before starting trek around the country. Allowing for test, what would you consider to be the latest I could start the training. Don't really want to be doing it in the freezing winter weather but worried if I wait till the warmer spring months I may not have sufficient time to acquire the necessary skills. Those who have taken the IAM course, what do you think?

To be honest with you Stu, I don't know. Because it had been sitting on the bike for over three months I decided to give it a run on the Optimate. Thougt it wouldn't hurt. Put it back on bike and flipped the starter and I got the characteristic clicks and ignition light dimming Put it back on the charger and had the #5 Green light flashing since about 8:15 last night. If it is still flashing in morning I'll concede to buying a new battery

I understood that bit Stu but it is still flashing. Been 24 hours now. Isn't it supposed to be doing something else by now?

yeah I got the instructions mate but it says nothing about a flashing green light for hours. Coming up to20 hours now.

Anyone got the Optimate 3 charger? I put my battery on charge last night about 8pm and the amber light 'SAVE' light came on for about 15 - 20 minutes. Then the green 'TEST' light started to flash. I understood that this may flash for up to 12 hours to test if the battery is holding charge then either charge the battery or display the RED 'F*CKED' light. Green light has been flashing now for some 15 hours ... and still flashing. Is this right? Or is battery knackered?

I'm looking to take a summer trip this year and pick up a few tags. Spent a week in Cornwall last year with the family and got a few. Looking to take a week this year with a buddy and collect a few more. I'm not the rough it or tent type so will see if I can get Premiere inn or some one like that to do a discount on the few nights away.

He was one of my idols when I was growing up. Got me grounded when I was 13 after buying his newly released Aladin Sane Album. I played the track 'Time' full blast with windows open! Mother wasn't too impressed with some of the lyrics. Great man and I for one will miss his music. RIP to a great man and musician

Now that is a definite possibility - As long as I don't get the usual shit with resitance issues when using LED's Never seen these before so do I assume they are white when off and amber when flashing? What is DRL? My local garage shook his head, passed it back and said ... 'Good Luck'

Yeah thought about dropping a spot of solder across the two pins in the base to join them. I have the old original bases but was hoping to get a few pennies back by re-selling them. They are going for a tidy sum on flee bay. I've seen £30 per side. Will certainly recover my outlay.
