I guess when they'll open a section named "DOTD: Dumb of the day", I'll instantly become a VIP member...
I just found out, after some email exhange (thanks internet for the relative anonimity), that the heat shield is typically tied to the brand and model of exhaust... in this case an Arrow.
They don't sell the shield separately and I don't think I want to but the whole exhaust piping set just for the metal plate so I reckon I'll pass for now

Hi all,
I'm trying to find a replacement heat shield for my Transalp 650 exhaust.
Can anyone recommend a good/reliable spare parts online store? I've tried good ol' ebay but haven't found it....
Cheers

Hi
I ride to Burnham every now and then (close to Chelmsford / nice roads up there) The Bikers Cafe you guys mention is the one in High Street, just next to the War Memorial?
cheers

hey hun, go you on hitting the books, your never too old and everyday is a school day
best thing i can say is that you have to be disciplined, make sure you eat sleep and keep your fluids well and then timetable in the hours, and as long as you do the study in them times, with regular 'fag' breaks to help stay focused there is nothing else to say really. self discipline is the key
good luck
Couldn't agree more. To a great extent, it's all about self-discipline
Make a timetable and try to sneak off a couple hours a day. Once you get into the routine, you'll be surprised at how many hours go every day that we just can't account for!! (i.e. where did the day go??)
If you fall out a couple days, no dramas, just try to progressively catch up over the next few days. Biggest enemy is procrastination
Best of luck!!

I always ask for photo id from the seller plus a utility bill, it gets rid of the time wasters & scammers
Fully agree, some quick due diligence helps exposing scammers
Name, ID with pic, full address, telephone, utility bill..... and suggest you will run it through some background check. Almost guaranteed you'll never hear back from them

I guess 80s school canteens were a good preparation for those willing to join the Army later
I get the same feeling whenever I do the school run and get to see the classrooms, etc... when did the shiny kit arrive? I still remember the day we saw the Amstrad CPC64k "computer"... I felt like the teacher was going to advise "get ready for warp speed!!"

Thanks for the tip, Tank!!
Cheers mate

T shirt jumper and bike jacket, neck tube, helmet, winter gloves, jeans and waterproof overtrousers, its a daily ride so need convenience
Very similar here, although typically lined bike trousers and no jeans
Whenever I go see wifey (Southern Spain) and see the bikers there, the jealous meter goes off scale though

Anzac comes from my wife, she's Australian and when pi$$ed off, she can display the same combat-agresiveness as the real anzac soldiers... I had intended to add 70 (for 1970, year of birth) but the first time I tried in another forum, it was taken so I used her year of birth
I guess anzac74 should be HER nickname and not mine but I'm too lazy to change it now

Don't think there's a pinlock for my Bell either. I think someone on the forum recommended this as an alternative to stuff for the visor:
http://www.ghostbikes.com/products/ghos ... -mask.html
I was thinking of trying one as I get a few problems with fogging up
I have one of these and so far working pretty well, no more steaming
Got it in amazon UK and hit the mailbox two days later

What they all said and another thing Anzac, NO QUESTIONS ARE STUPID !
Aaaawwww, I know, mate.... it was one of those days: "this is not happening, I taught my kids to rde bikes and now I just can't get this thing working!!"
Thanks all for the tips, bits above will be added to toolkint
Cheers

Hi @ll,
Apologies in advance for the REALLY dumb question but everytime I try to inflate the rear tyre on a Transalp 650 on any petrol station, I really struggle to fit the inflator in the valve... all stations seem to use the same model and also the same cr@p reading meter I must say.
Is any other Transalp rider having the same problem?
Thanks for any help... sorry for the mega stupid question, really...
How do you make time fly at work...

I'm a Risk Manager in a bank (i.e. telling them not to screw things up.... not that they ever listen...)
Time flies, and quoting a previous sentence, lots of lovely pressure too (especially when they have screwed up for being greedy, not listening and now needing a fix). Worst part: endless meetings where the only decision taken is to meet again
Right now lunch in front of my screen, checking Google Maps and trying to figure out where to ride this weekend!!
