They are differently branded oxford ones, they even turn up occasionally with Oxford branded stuff in the box.

Apart from being knocked unconscious for a fair time, my caberg did it's job and no head injuries in a big crash.

It stayed closed despite being fairly externally battered.

Heated grips and muffs, keep warm and dry, heated insoles and a heater vest thing.

Nice and toasty.

I've used caberg flip helmets for years, always comfy and suit me.

5* sharp rated and survived a big off a couple of weeks ago after making quite obvious contact with the road.

It knocked me out but have absolutely no injuries to my head.

It was time to replace it anyway, nearly a year old but I didn't plan on doing it this way.

If it's something low powered, don't worry about a relay, just take the live from the brake light switch supply.

It'll only be live with ignition on and will be fused via the bike system.

It has to be in resaleable condition.

Insurance doesn't cover a broken key unless you paid for key cover.

You can buy broken key extraction kits. Using both bits you can get a key cut if you don't have a spare to copy.

I use a basic but reliable cyclone alarm via ebay for under £30 and a Datatool Snitcher which texts me if anyone tampers with it.

Disk lock and a cover on it, so far so good.

Generally it's ok but if in a newer build property it may be prohibited under the terms of planning.

This would show up on the deeds.

Ask the neighbours, someone will know.

Or do a ohm test with meter to see if the earth is ok.

When it's cold (to avoid covering yourself with boiling water) take the radiator cap off and start the bike, rev it and you'll see the water rushing about and likely the level will drop a bit when revved. This shows your pump is fine, if the pump wasn't working it wouldn't take many minutes long to boil up.

Put a meter on the terminals of the fan switch and run it to see if it switches when hot enough, problem being that the fan won't come on while you are going this, best to put a test light between the output of the switch while still connected and the battery and see if it comes on at all.

Sounds like the head gasket could be stuffed, this could show by making the hoses hard by pressurising the system when running and would likely make water exit the radiator filler swiftly when the cap is off while running.

Boiling up a bike is a swift way to a screwed head gasket so if it's not this, you need to sort it before it is.

Decent shoes work be be better, his feet would sweat less.

Any truly waterproof camera will mist up. If it has damp inside this is what happens, with any brand.

You can buy anti fog inserts that attract the moisture and stop the fogging.

I use a gopro on my lid a lot and never had any issues with neck or it causing my head to tip back.you probably need to use it more to build up your neck muscle.

You always get horror stories about bad handling yet I'm yet to find anyone who has suffered this.

I've had mixed tyres on various bikes many times and I've never had any ill handling problems.

I have no issues or hesitation having different brands front/rear.

I think all this needs to be put into the driving test schedule to make sure everyone knows there legal duties of keeping a motor vehicle.

They don't even teach how to use indicators, what hope is there of passing on legal requirements.

It's no worse than anything else. At 70 it says 76 on the clocks.

Taking the sat nav on a track?

Of course, I wouldn't want to go the wrong way.

It's probably got a rev limiter on it which stops you destroying the engine trying to get 100mph out of it.

Also. the displayed 75 mph is likely a real world 60/65mph, speedos are accepted to read higher than actual speed.

Strap a sat nav to it and try again, see the difference.

I've got 5 pairs of binatone 550/650 pmr446 radios.

Quite clear, even if the quoted range is optimistic.

I've bought a throat mic for the one I use as they pick up less noise. Oh says it's very clear, even when riding.

My helmets I change at 9 months because after 40,000 miles the visor td are usually scarred, the flips wear etc and cleaning them out gets pointless.

Someone asking for a value for money lid isn't asking for £400 recommendations.

Fine for someone who only rides when the sun shines and buys a new one evry 5 years but for me, a £100 caberg flip is fine, i replace it every 9 months or so, fits well, has every thing i need and has a 5* rating.

I'm looking to get a new helmet in August

Basically what I'd like must be:

-Full face Yep

-Pinlock ready/available (as long as I can get one) yep

-Good at noise protection s'ok

-Internal sun visor (unless the tinted visors are equally good) yep

-Preferably matte black think so

-Quick release preferred yep

Box, I got mine at J&S in Bristol, I think it cost me £40

I'd say £40 is just slightly better value for money than the gold plated £470 shoei
