  1. They have always come in cheapest for me (multibike policy) although last year it did increase. I was on autorenewal and when I phoned to cancel they reduced it £150 immediaely- I may phone them again this year and see if I can chip the renwal price.
  2. I'll be heading to Switzerland and Italy- I'm thinking of having a rough plan, but make it up when I'm there (i'll book the first and last night of accommodation and then look for vacancies each day) Last tie i booked all the accommodation before I left and early cam unstuck- San Bernadino pass as closed for a cycle race ad m hotel was on the other side!! Last time i went I got the train from Dusseldorf to Vienna and basically just rode home from there.
  3. Thanks Stu- Kurviger is just what I needed. I haven't decided about uploading he routes to GPSyet- I have a list of passes I want to do and wanted to see how long I need to do them all. I did the Alps a few years back and rushed it- I want to take my time and enjoy it this time around. What GPS have you got? I havent got one yet. When I went previously I just used WAZE- it was fine, but I want to specify the actual route I want to take rather than just the quickest etc.

  5. Hi Can anyone recommend a route planner for the Alps? I am trying to plan a trip for the Spring/ Summer- the problem I have is when trying to plan the route, the app im using (google Maps, Michelin route planner etc) says the routes are not possible. I know the majoirty of passess are currenlty closed due to snow, but I want to find something that will allow me to work out howw long it will take when they are open. Cheers Steve
  6. Buy yourself a cheap multi meter and watch some youtube vids. hopefully you will be able to trace the fault. As said above, check the earth as they cause the majority of electric problems
  7. What brand were the gloves and jacket?
  8. Just bought unseen from Superbike Factory. You pay a deposit of £500 to reserve. Mine was low mileage so i wasn’t particularly concerned. If I didn’t like it when I got there I would have asked for my deposit back and walked away.
  9. Hi I went in to a Honda dealer and asked. I'll seenifni can contact Honda its self and see . The cost of the test is £175.00 and its the only place that TFL will listen to .. so if Like to know how my £175.00 is going to help the clean air bull .as the money will be paid to a private garage .. is the garage going to send the money to cleaner air environmental nut jobs NO didn't think so ... I would contact Honda UK and not a dealer. I cannot say 100% it is true, but from another form I have been reading up on ULEZ- " Yamaha, Harley Davidson and KTM all charge for this certificate; Honda doesn’t charge for the first one but does charge for subsequent ones. The oldest bike we have found so far that has a CoC pass is a 2003 ST1300 Pan European."
  10. You can ask the manufacturer for a ask for a certificate of conformance (Honda will send you one in the post free of charge- not sure about other manufacturers)
  11. Do you have to pay screen price, or is there a negotiation to be had?
  12. Have you checked the kill switch- the people who picked it up might have knocked it?
  13. It’s the nose weight of the vehicle you need to check-unlikely to be 220kg
  14. Dont go mad filtering in Switzerland- they don't like it. I had read about it before i went so I just sat in traffic- I witnessed cars deliberately blocking gaps and people actually opening doors to stop it- on one occasion they nearly knocked them of the bike
  15. I would like to go. Out of interest, what/how do you secure your gear ie helmet etc? do you leave it in the tent?
  16. Before I picked up my bike I was adamant the first thing I would fit would be a gear indicator- rode it for a couple of days then realised I couldn't be bothered and that I didn't need it.
  17. Next Wed- going out every night on 125, so hopefully everything will be ok. When I get in I spend the rest of the night looking at other bikes- start of cheap, then end up looking at expensive, start looking at nothing to big then end up looking at huge bikes. I will wait and get the Mod 2 then decide
  18. I completed my mod 1 today- practicing beforehand I hit the cones on the swerve a couple of times- my instructor told me to focus on driving through the gap and not look at the cones- seems really basic advice, but worked a treat.
