  1. It does yes. I'll just keep it in. Only small. Just more work. Haha
  2. Hi. Good day. Lengthening my loom as its all being tucked away in a new compartment. Got 2 diagrams so doing my homework. One from manual and one from a stripped down version. Now. Diode. I can work out if I need this one. It goes I think it links to various connections up front of bike. I understand Diodes to make a current travel in one direction only but not sure how this relates to me. Any help appreciated.
  3. Hi. I am just looking through many snap shots of when I stripped my bike down, as I am currently rebuilding it now, I took many photos as you do, most of them useless now as I am custom building and have removed a lot of stock parts. But on one image I notice the V-TWIN engine is on it's side, most probbaly for a good 10 - 15 mins, the oil was not drained at this point, the v-twin has been upright ever since for about 12 months now (bloody long project I know). So will this be ok? As in the oil can't leak upwards (or sideways in this case) can it? Thanks for your help.
  4. Do certain engines have certain wires or is a wire a wire? What does HT stand for?
  5. So I'm custom building my bike up from scratch. Relocating a few parts about and the ignition coils could do with being pushed under my tank. The left rear coil is a little short, I know they require strict 'firing times' - is it possibel to lengthen one or 2 of the wires and stil have it all in time?
  6. Great, do you know if there is a UK vendor, can't be risking it till April 15th.
  7. Been looking at these, was a suggestion... http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_odkw= ... r&_sacat=0 They are meant to be decent. But only ship from China and I need it asap, can anyone suggest anything similar? Any experiences with trackers at all? It's definitley going in regardeless, need peace of mind.
  8. Thank you. Not to sound like an ungratful twat but it's silver not gold. I will email the original link I sent and see if he has a 91 in gold. Some good fortune is coming your way.
  9. Thanks will look into them.
  10. Ace, that looks like fun, would need to film it as they excreeted themselves. Looking for something that can alert me in my home also. Like an actual alarm, or a text or phone call tyope thing.
  11. Hi, looking to but a new chain. My bike is a 91 year model, but this chain says it's for 94-00... Will this make any difference? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221919332196? ... EBIDX%3AIT Thanks.
  12. Hi. Just trying to think off ways to beef up my garage.. My bike has an alarm and tracker hidden inside the bike which will be kept live with the battery. I want to beef up the garage security. Currently no alarm. The garage is down the yard from house (not connected). I was thinking of maybe a wireless alarm that texts me or even sets an alarm going off in my house to alert me should some unlucky little scum bag attempt to break in. As well as this it would also set an alrm off on the garage, flashing lights, bleeping sounds the lot! What is currently on the market for this type of security? Is there anything I have not thought of you can share? Hope you can help. Thanks.
  13. Good idea.
  14. Well it's a plastic/rubber gasket, standard on the bike i think. I will just re use the one I have. Thanks.
  15. Hi it's not the 'O' rings I need, it's the more shaped gasket shape, like an L shape if you will.
  16. Hi, my assuming is this is not a good idea, should any 'globs' of sealer make their their way into the carb then shit really will hit the fan... The gasket kits for my carb are £35 each which come with all the different jets, but I only need the gaskets (or O Rings as they are called in my manual). One idea was maybe trying to cut my own out of gasket paper but I figured they are not overly bad but have probably not been changed in its 25 year life span. So sealer YAY or NAY?
  17. Silly old me. I have a manual and a torque wrench. Will get reading, just caught in a flurry of worry.
  18. Pulled front end apart tonight. Yoke. Forks. Disc and break. Whilst taking the disc off the wheel I noticed all 5 nuts seemed to have a lock tight on them. Or so I thought. Each nut give a snap before coming loose. There was no edging. Just so I know when putting back, does the disc require lock tight? As well do any other important parts require this?
  19. Looking to seal my newly polished engine and wheels. Got rid of all that oxidisation, pitting and rust, and I never want to see it again! I am informed on here about Poorboy wheel sealant, I want to know can this god like substance also be used on engine casings? I am not even using high temp paint on my engine, I'm fairly happy with the full metal look, however, would still like to seal it. What do you guys use? Suggest anything like Poorboy? I will be getting my frame and swingarm clear coated, but all other parts will either clear coat myself or seal with some kind of sealant.
  20. Thanks, taken note. Have you got one I take it? I have a clever hiding place on bike, the thing will be out of reach without tools, plan is to even seriously gaff tape the thing up so no wires and even the box itself will not be able to be seen even fit the secret compartment was foiled. What are you opinions, not battery intensive is it?
  21. I really want to get a tracking device installed on my bike, what are people's thoughts, any good ones out there, will any of the ebay ones do the job.. Thanks.
  22. Yeah that's just the bolt I have on right now? Though I would guess my standard one is magnetic?
  23. Is it normal practice to clear coat chrome plate? Or is it due to the chrome being eaten away now? If so can you suggest anything that won't make the existing chrome look dull?
  24. I don't think it was rust, it has been inside my studio on the 2nd floor of a mill, albeit for the last 10 months, and with no oil for the last month or two, i think I was just panicking. I have ran the oil through though, will this be enough to lubricate the whole engine? I guess them sump plugs are on string you just pull back out?
  25. Excellent. Glad I was Mr envirmemtal and kept that oil :thumbs up:
