  1. This is what am talking about! Please link me... I know garages that will hook it up
  2. Nah I have tried it, they changed the chemical structure as it was too strong, now it won't even strip fleas off a dogs bo**ocks. I heard aircraft stripper is good on a blog today... Anyone used this?
  3. Hi guys. I don't have money to be blowing away on different products trying to find one that works, I figured there must be someone who has experience in this? I just want to paint or spray it on and scrub away. Have broke down my motorbike into an unimaginable size, and stripping paint and cleaning up. I don't want to sand bkast it as it's just as much work trying to get the metal back to normal plus the cost. Seen loads of 'quality' products online that claim thia and that but I just want something that works. Anyone have any good suggestions on here? Thanks.
  4. Has to be a spare or something - because the little bix it come out of has no metal connections.
  5. Just getting battery out now. And found what looks like a small green fuse. Says '30' on it. It was on the right hand of my shadow vlx. What is this little guy from/for? Can't upload pics from mobile phone. It was just sitting there. Still gonna charge battery.
  6. £45 in halfords.. Or £16 on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-AMP-12V-COM ... 2c85f899da Thing is halfords will buy from the same factories these guys buy from on ebay I reckon... Is this one I have posted the correct one for a bike, says suitable for motorbike.
  7. Yep looks like battery! I'm gonna get it out and charged up... Don't have a charger... I might see if I can buy one, any recommendations in say Halfords or specialist bike shops?? Are they all the same?
  8. Parked the bike up while I was in the gym, everything was normal and fine driving down. No issues. Come back to bike 1 hour later and then I realized I thought I had left the engine turned on. I am in the bad habit of killing the engine with the kill switch and then turn it off with the key. I wasn't paying attention when I come back but was sure when I put the key in that it was left on, though not 100% sure. Either way nothing when I pressed the starter button. Figured I'd give it a bump start, seems to have worked in the past down a hill throwing it into 1st or 2nd. So at the bottom of the hill I threw it into 1st, clutch out and then it was biting, it wasnt biting, it was biting it wasn't biting, just like a pitta patta stop start motion, jerking my body forward and backward, so at the bottom of the hill decided to get off and re evaluate. I pushed it 5 mins to a local garage and thankfully a guy was willing to help me resolve it. He got his jump leads out and instead of throwing them on the battery he put the red on the starter motor, we got it ticking over again but the neutral light (green) was flickering and the main beam light was also flickering. We give it some revs but it was like it was missing a beat or something... then when you give it too many revs it kind of sounded like it was cutting out... Or it sounded like something was blocked? Anyway, I managed to ride it hope (all up hill!) but in this start stop motion, at times it would go properly and get up to 40mph but with some jerking! Not pleasant. When I got it home, obviously turned the engine off then it wouldn't re start with the start button... But the main light had the faintest of light in it. So now I'm stuck with this dilemma.. Could it be the spark plugs? Could it be the carb? Could it be the battery? Could it be the starter motor?
  9. Advice from a fellow rider got me thinking about installing my new HAWK alarm on my own. I figured it would be a straight forward thing, but has said be better to get someone who understand electricals and currents etc... Anyone installed one of these??
  10. I would rather put thieves off though than actually let them get about on my bike... i.e an alarm if they come close to it. And if any would be thieves are close I would like to know i.e an alarm. So having a tracker and an alarm separate is not feasible on the bike then? then? As well as this text alert! Wish there was an all in one system.
  11. Looking for a tracker and an alarm in one.... Like I say there is a HAWK one but it's £160. Think I might get the HAWK X-50 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HAWK-X-50-MOT ... 4cfc5a66a0 Has some good features for the price (if you read into it). But would be good to have a tracker that also has an alarm... But looks like I might have to just get both separately. Though what this will do to my battery I'm not sure.
  12. The only one I can find is £160 and that's made by HAWK.... A little much for me.. Does anyone on here use an alarm system that can text your phone should there be a problem, either an alarm for your bike or for your garage/shed.
  13. Excuse me on that one. Got you now. I sorted it anyway got the ground anchor from them guys... it works out £5 a week for 3 months or £2.50 a week for 6 months so in that perspective it isn't so bad if I have to leave it.
  14. Would something like this be 'easily removed' by a crow bar?? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Floor-Wall-An ... 5b00e3ac97 The one he is suggesting is this one.. http://www.almax-security-chains.co.uk/ ... /p-71-134/ If I was gonna be in house for a year or so i'd go for it but will that albus be as good?
  15. Can I ask you guys from experience: Ground Anchors - obviously the ideal is one that immovable, and one that can't be moved up by crow bar etc... Will some of these ground anchors for £20 on ebay be immovable if used with resins and good bolts etc. A certain brand has said that there's is immovable and others are not. There's is £70 but not sure how long I will be at my address maybe moving, don't want to invest so much if I can't even take it with me, though spending £20/£30 is bit more justifiable. Look forward to your feedback.
  16. Most of the ones I'm looking at seem quite in-effective, basically they have exposed bolt heads or allen key heads. Surly hidden bolt heads etc would be safest? Can anyone suggest any wall anchors or types? Just can't seem to find one that I can put faith into.
  17. Is it an alarm too? What is the model of your tracker?? Is it hooked up to your bike battery so it charges when you ride it?
  18. Hi - looking for Bike alarm (maybe with tracker) that can text you if any issue such as attempted theft. So you get a text message alerting you. Can a anyone suggest a product that does this, had a look online and I'm not sure if I'm searching for the right thing? Getting my bike back soon and (as you probably guessed) going OTT on the deterrents.
  19. So I know 'if a thief wants something bad enough they will get it, but how many thieves do you think have the skill to do this?? Around £150 for small Immobilizer 3 and Squire lock.. A lot of money if it's this easy to break into? ">
