  1. I'd had my first (and only, so far) accident before I told my parents I'd taken my test and bought a bike If you can't stretch to a decent back protector yet, you can always get one of the internal ones to fit in the jacket. They're not as good as the full back protector but you can get them for about £15 if I remember correctly and they're better than the proverbial poke in the eye!
  2. I got a set made up by these guys: http://www.ultimateear.com/ I always found with all the disposable ones that I used, one ear always hada better fit than the other but these seem to do the business. Bit pricey but probably cheaper than hearing aids!
  3. Had these recommended to me by a guy on another forum and have just ordered the US-20 tailpack myself. Looks to be quite good stuff. Hopefully it'll be there in time for me get away on the bike when I get home next week
  4. Would love to join this as it sounds like it's going to be an excellent event. Unfortunately I don't get home from work until the 16th Look forward to the pics though
  5. Why do they always organise these events when I am away at work? I think it is some sort of conspiracy.... Hope it's good one though with plenty of bargains
  6. Let us know what it's like...could be quite tempted to splash out on one myself
  7. Cool Quite like the simpson lids. Is that one of the road legal ones?
  8. Ah yeah, should have thought of that...sometimes I'm more stupid than I give myself credit for
  9. Excellent! Thanks for the link...couldn't get it to work from Google but that worked just fine. Don't suppose anyone knows of a store that stocks their stuff? Would like to try some on before ordering on-line.
  10. I'm after a new textile jacket as my current one has seen slightly better days and leaks more than my ship! I'd prefer elbow/shoulder armour but not too fussed about the back as I have a back protector on order. Whilst speding a productive day at work on the tinterweb I came across this http://www.motostorm.it/en/details.asp? ... en=giacche. Never heard of them though. Does anyone know about anything about them and whether they're any good? Also reccomendations appreciated. Thanks
  11. Most people would have valued it at about £2.53
  12. Hmm...time to roll out the credit card again then
  13. Unfortunately not. It's a Roof Boxer V. Lovely helmet but doubt Arai will x-ray it for me
  14. Being a bit of a dumbass I put my helmet on my bike seat and it fell off. There's a chip in the colour coat on it but no other obvious damage. Should I think about replacing it? I know they suggest that any drop should mean a new one but I only bought it 3 months ago and hate the thought of having wasted a couple underd quid. Mind you, still better than killing myself if it's boogered though.
  15. Just ordered the OXford Humpback tank bag and strap down attachment for my bike as it too has a plastic tank. Hopefully it should arrive by the time I get home. I can also recommend the Baglux tank cover and bags. A bit pricey if you're not going to use it often but worth a look. Shame they don't make them for my new bike.
  16. Bugger...gonna have to give it a miss now. The girlfriend's booked us a weekend away and chosen the weekend in question. Ah well, it is on the bikes so not all bad Maybe next time...
  17. I joined here as a way to keep in touch with the biking world whilst I'm ship-bound. I chose here as it was the first place I found where I actually laughed out loud at some of the posts. There are some great senses of humour on here
  18. So close to home...would have been cool but I'm stuck on my ship until August! Maybe next year...
  19. Sounds good to me...a localish meet taking place when I'm home! A rare occurance Will be cool to meet some folk from here and put some faces to names
  20. I suspect this won't be an issue for me But if I'd had a bit of foresight and bought one a decade ago I could have saved myself loads of money
