  1. Hello, I have considering doing a Bikesafe day before doing a IAM or ROSPA but after looking at the websites ( http://www.bikesafe.co.uk/Bikesafe/surrey.html or http://www.bikesafe-london.co.uk/course ... london.php ), it looks like the training is delivered by policemen... So here is the stupid question: if you do one or more mistakes (something against the Highway code or something that could be perceived as dangerous, etc.), could you get a fine(and even lose points on your licence) from the policeman, which is training/monitoring you??? Thanks Ludo
  2. Thanks Guys. Now, that summer is getting close. I will have another look at these websites Out of curiosity, which road course module did you do? Thanks Ludo
  3. I did not check the exact time it took but I have a strong feeling it took me over 1h30 to remove these 2 stickers... One was tiny a round petrol sign and the other one was a larger rectangle... The hot water on a sponge did not do much to warm up the stickers I had to use my nails and then moved on to a Credit Card which I was "wiggling" very gently to remove mm by mm this sticker. I then cleaned up the residue with WD40. I did not do a single scratch on my paint so I am happy but should I have known how tricky it was, I may not have done it today... Anyway that's done, I'm happy with it but that was way more difficult/tidious task than I expected. Thanks Ludo P.S.: btw, I own a Yahama XJ6 so other make stickers may be easier to remove?
  4. Hello, Ok, it sounds stupid but since I bought my bike, I did not dare removing the stickers on the tank... I am not sure which product I should use to make sure that it is not going to damage the tank paint Any idea/solution will be more than welcome! Thanks in advance. Ludo
  5. Morning, sorry for the delayed reply but was on holidays. It looks like I will be sent in business trip so I can't make any plan anymore Why they don't have a 4-day easter in all countries? Ludo
  6. It is a brand new product and they have just released and not many models is available as we speak so I guess that they will become available here once they finished launching the full range in the States. Just my 2 cents. Ludo
  7. Yes, they are indeed expensive but they seem ideal to me as I ride without a backpack and I have no idea where I could put a spare lens
  8. Thanks Guys. Yes, staying in the UK does make sense Regarding recovery, etc.; the bike is still brand new (manufacturer roadside assistance + insurance one) and will have had its 600 miles service just before the trip. I don't want to plan every day going from there to there, but I want a rough idea of where I should head too I guess I will investigate Yorkshire. If anyone has specially good roads/places to see around there, please do let me know. Cheers, Ludo
  9. Hello guys, I don't know if you heard about them http://www.shieldtechllc.com/products_p ... visors.php but I really look forward to them releasing their HJC compatible ones as I have been looking for a while for such visor! What do you make of these? Cheers, Ludo
  10. Hello, I am planning to do a small 4-day roadtrip over the easter week-end, Friday to Monday. That will be my first one so I was hoping to get some ideas/suggestions of great place to go over 4 days without riding 24h a day. Since it will be my first one, I am not sure if I will get tired, etc... As I am based in Surrey, I had the following ideas/thoughts - Cornwall for 4 days - Belgium (passing next to Lille to see the grdma) - Wales Any ideas/comments will be more than welcome Cheers Ludo
  11. Hiya, I would like to try motorcross this summer for a day or two. Do you know where I could find a good training school/location? I found this ( http://www.adventuresportsholidays.com/ ... -17382.php ) but it might be better/cheaper to get in touch directly with training schools. Have you got any location, training school to recommend? Any advice/comments will be more than welcome Cheers Ludo
  12. Hello, I have put 200miles or so on my new XJ6 and I was wondering if I should install a tank pad.. I know it is a fairly stupid question but I have no idea if they are really a must have or not because you can find some 4-5y.o. bike without one where the tank is still perfect so I'm not sure what to do :/ So if you believe that tank pad are a must-have or on the contrary, that they are useless, I would love to hear your thoughts Thanks Ludo
  13. Here is mine: HJC HQ-1 Carbon http://lidsdirect.co.uk/WebRoot/StoreDaily/Shops/eshop193014/4A83/E4E9/C22D/3637/1DF6/C0A8/0ADE/F0DD/HJC_HQ-1_Carbon_Helmet.jpg
  14. Thanks for all the advice. I decided to go with the multiple layer option and I bought yesterday some Racer Novus gloves and a pair of EDZ liners in Merino wool. I went for a 2-3hours ride and I did not get cold fingers. Fair enough it was not freezing cold today but it was 10degrees or so. I should be sorted with these for my 30min commute Thxs Ludo
  15. Hello, Does anyone have any warm (very warm) waterproof gloves to recommend for use during the winter? I am doing an hour commute on my new bike but the glove Alpinestar Goretex 365 are not warm at all so I get my fingers properly frozen after few minutes... I read in Ride about the Racer Pluvio but these have been discontinued. Any suggestion will be more than welcome as I can't spend the winter like that Thanks in advance Ludo
