  1. Hello, As posted in another thread, my rear tyre is punctured and needs replacing. My front is a BT-021, less than 1,000 miles so don't really fancy replacing it. I am thinking of installing a BT-023 at the rear, ride front BT-021/rest BT-023 until the front needs changing (3k/4k max) and then move onto BT-016PRO front and BT-023 rear. Would you see any issue riding a combination of BT-021/BT-023 and then BT-016 Pro/BT-023? The other option is too install Pilot Road 3 both front and back and try selling on ebay my front BT-021 but are the Pilot Road 3 really that much better in the wet to justify the over spending? Any advice / comments will be more than welcome. Thanks Ludo
  2. Thanks guys. I had a decent quote for the mobile fitting so will go that way. The back tyre almost had 7,000 miles so needs soon replacing anyway. Just need to decide on the tyre but will post a new topic for tyre. Thanks
  3. Hello, I noticed on Friday that my tyre was flat, I reinflated it to check it was not some kids that would have deflated it and in 24h it was completely flat again. I just tried looking for a puncture but none is obvious. There are 4 spots/marks that could be the puncture but I cannot feel any air coming out of them so I cannot use a repair puncture kit I made the following measurement 11.40 - 43PSI 11.55 - 42PSI 12.10 - 41PSI 12.25 - 40PSI 12.40 - 39PSI Would the tyre deflate faster while riding with me on it or should I still expect a 1 PSI/15min deflation? Would it be safe to ride 10miles at slow/normal speed to go to the closest tyre fitting place (with does wheel removal) with such tyre? Or should I buy something like the "motul - Tyre Repair" to be 100% safe? I heard that it would be a pain to clean/remove so I am hesitant to use it Any advice/comment would be welcome. Thanks Ludo
  4. Thanks. I will book it today. This track does not seem amazing but I'm sure it will still be fun
  5. Hello, As I will be doing 2 trackdays soon and knowing my luck, it will be pissing down so I am wondering what kind of rain protection you use? Do you use a normal oversuit without knee sliders cut as it is very unlikely that you will have you knee down on a wet day? Or do you have one of the Respro 2 piece rain suit with knee slider holes, etc? Thanks Ludo
  6. Hello, I am doing a track day at Three sisters on June 9th with the i2i Motorcycle Academy. I have further training with them on June 11th and 12th and was going to go ride in the Yorkshire dales on the 10th but I just noticed that hottrax are doing a novice day @ Darley Moor on the 10th. Would you say that 2 track days (both novice) in a row is too much? Or would it be ideal to put into practice everything that I will have learned the day before? Thanks Ludo
  7. Hello, My leathers are size 50 EUR/ 40UK. I need to buy a waterproof oversuit in case of unforecasted rain but the question is: should I buy an oversuit size 40 (size of my leather) or should I go for a size 42? Am I correct assuming that oversuits already include leeway to easily fit over leathers? Thanks Ludo
  8. Thanks a lot for this link. The Floor Standing Biker Tidy is exactly what I have been looking for. As soon as I get my pay check I will buy one of them Thanks Ludo
  9. Hello, I just bought my first leathers at the week-end but I have absolutely no ideas how to care for them? It seems that going under the rain with them would damage them, which is understandable so I was wondering if anyone has any product to recommend to waterproof leather? Do you also know any good product to keep your leathers in great conditions? Thanks in advance. Ludo
  10. eheh. They fit fine for the chest, I'm a 38" chest so with the backprotector, 40" leathers is good. The waist is a bit too large but nothing crazy. Anyway being a 28/29" waist, I always struggle a lot to find perfect fitting clothes. I'm too skinny
  11. Hello, I just bought my first leathers yesterday and I'm delighted with my purchase. I bought this one but in black from George White http://www.georgewhite.co.uk/images/shop_products/large/504888_0301.jpg. They don't even list it on their website as they had only one in stock, which was fitting perfectly At 399GBP instead of 999GBP for a Dainese suit (Puma Branded), I'm very happy... I also bought a new lid to replace my HJC HQ-1. It was only 1y old and was working great but the pinlock visor were not fitting properly so decided to get an Arai. I went for an Arai Chaser (was also a bargain 169GBP instead of 369GBP). http://www.georgewhite.co.uk/images/shop_products/large/chaser20spike20r20detail.jpg Does anyone have any experience on either of these kits? Thanks Ludo
  12. Hiya, I just went to my local HG as my Alpinestars 365 gloves started leaking and without any fuss, the guy ordered new ones for me. I have to say that I find it very good customer service and I believe that I will buy all my gloves from them in the future. Anyway that got me wondering what was the Infinity warranty like? Does any of you already exchanged gloves with them for faulty lining or leaking gloves? Thanks Ludo
  13. Thanks again for the feedback. I kept them as they were a bargain, I spent my Saturday walking around the house with 2 pairs of ski socks (that was slightly painful at the beginning...) and now they fit perfectly. I just came back from a ride, they don't feel tight anymore, they are not painful, perfect
  14. Thanks for the answer. I guess I will keep them and see how it goes after few miles in Ludo
  15. Hello, I just bought some Sidi Mega Vertigo online and I am not sure what to do :/ Basically, they are Size 8 / 42. The left foot is fitting perfectly but the right one is tight at the toe slider. If I was to get a larger size the left one would be way too big... So being leather boots, I am wondering if they will stretch a bit or will stay the same? I tried the right one without the inner sole and it fits perfectly so I was considering to use the right one without inner sole but could that damage the Goretex membrane? Saying that I'm not even sure if there is a Goretex membrane in the sole, it may only be in the side? What do you think guys? Thanks Ludo
  16. Morning, I cleaned my chain yesterday but it was pissing down so I did not oil it straight after. Today is still pissing down but I really want to get the bike out. Is it still effective to oil the chain when it is raining? or do you really need to wait for a perfect dry day? If it is the case and knowing that I do not have a garage, I'm not sure how I will manage to regularly clean/lubricate my chain Thanks Ludo
  17. Sorry for hijacking the thread. Where did you get them re-soled? Did you send them to Sidi directly? I am 99% sure that I will go with the Sidi Vertigo Mega Gore-Tex Boots but it seemed that only the model above could easily have its sole replaced. Thanks Ludo
  18. I bought this one, the Draggin Next Gen, as they were the only one I could see myself going out on a Friday evening in an afterwork unforecasted evening http://motomail.co.nz/Users/motomail.co.nz/Images/1466_300_300.jpg There is no visible panel and the cut is pretty decent but they are cut very small... I wear usually 28/29 jeans so went for the 30 on ebay, and there would be no way I could fit knee protector in :/
  19. Hello, I am thinking of buying a new helmet and looking at Arai they offer a 5 year guarantee, it got me thinking about the lite expectancy of an helmet. Knowing that Arai ones are great quality, would that imply that helmet from other brands would need replacing after let's say 2-3 years? Does the quality of an helmet goes down with time? Or could one keep his helmet for 8-10years, as long as he never dropped it, etc. Or should one change helmet every 50k miles, etc? Thanks in advance Ludo
  20. Ok, I have been able to take the bike out this week-end. As soon as I removed the cover, I could see the tyres were shinning of diesel... whereas it could not be seen straight after my trip 2 weeks ago. I cleaned both back and front and checked pressure. Front was down by 2psi. Went for a 2h a ride on the dry and the grip is back. Just need a wet day to check if they still grip on the wet too
  21. I still haven't had time to wash the tyre and get out on it. I don't know if I will have time this week-end But re-comment being loaded, I did 2,290miles being loaded at the back and a lot of weight on the front due to the tankbag and I was able to play on the Scottish roads without feeling any front skids even under damp or VERY wet conditions. I will check the tyre pressure in case of puncture and will keep you posted
  22. ok, I managed to upload the pictures. Here are thumbnails but to see the high res, just go to http://coume.fastmail.fm http://coume.fastmail.fm/back%20001.jpg?variant=thumbhttp://coume.fastmail.fm/front%20001.jpg?variant=thumbhttp://coume.fastmail.fm/front%20002.jpg?variant=thumbhttp://coume.fastmail.fm/front%20003.jpg?variant=thumbhttp://coume.fastmail.fm/front%20004.jpg?variant=thumb As you can see, the back one is still fine. It is teared a bit but nothing bad. The one looking much worst is the front one Do you think than losing the grip was due to "greasy" roads or am I good to change it? Thanks Ludo
  23. Fair enough, it sounds stupid but I really don't know I have ridden 5,500 miles or so on my bike but 2,290miles were done over the last week touring Scotland... I have to confess that I did play a bit on the west coast roads (7h on the dry and 2/3h in the VERY wet) and I start to believe that I killed my front tyre. I drove back yesterday from York to London under the light rain and I was unable to lean the bike (even a little) in round abouts without losing the front. In the first one, I thought I went over a bit of diesel but then it happened times and times over the 6h ride so I am wondering if my front tyre could be dead... The tyre does not have a nice rounded shape anymore. The thread size is still very deep but it is like it "lost" its grip. Am I being being stupid there or could I have really killed the tyre in such a small mileage? Thanks Ludo P.S.: I have taken some pictures but can't upload them right now, I will try again later on.
  24. Thanks for the info. I will make sure to wash them cold as I could not offer them to shrinken, already tight enough
