It depends on the bike for me. If it's something special, I like them standard. There's only two bikes I regret selling, and they were my TDR250 and my SP-1. The SP was minter than an extra strong mint with mint sauce and a kendal mint cake for pudding. On the other hand, I once modified a vtr1000 (firestorm) with a viffer swingarm and one off pipe, with a load of other trick bits and engine tuning. The vtr is still about and now and again crops up on ebay. The second firestorm got a full strip down, powdercoated frame, Yosh pipes, moriwaki bits etc. Can you tell I love twins. ? There's a few more things planned for the B-King, but at the moment it's just a set of pipes and headlight mask.

I got mugged last week by 4 big bast*rds, I managed to knock 1 out. Probably not the best place to have a w**k, but I didnt know If i would ever get another chance.

I'm at 11K on the original chain now with no tight spots. I've probably only moved down the adjusters by 1 notch in this time too, mind you, I am a bit OCD when it comes to this bike. I use motul lube after every 2nd long run and apply it when I get back in and the chain is warm. Having said that, it comes with an ultra heavy duty EK chain as standard - it needs to. Some guys on the B-King forum have 20K+ miles on a chain (one changed his at 28K ) and some of those go drag racing !

I like how you have it under the category of "Pets and Animals".... You should start the "YouTube your bike" Thread and see who has the meatiest exhaust. A mate of mine has a Honda Fury with short open pipes that makes your ears bleed.

And watch out for the fake stuff. Was reading on another forum about someone who bought stuff that although looking as though they were a matching set, didn't have the correct zips to fasten together. The zips on both garments were miles away from what they should have looked like.

Your best bet is just to go to a dealer and ask for a discount on end of season or even last seasons stuff. I've had massive discounts in the past (in the £100's) just by applying a little cheek. On the plus side, you're buying at the right time of year. Last year I got £100 knocked off a £400+ Dainese jacket, just because the new version has a silver flash, rather than a red flash on the sleeve. It just goes to show the markup on the product.

Just had tyres fitted and seemed a good excuse to scrub them in. We were supposed to be doing a few more miles around the Scottish Borders, but the weather had turned to shite up that way.

Had a 310 mile jaunt around Yorkshire today, started off at Barnard Castle, before heading all over the place and doing Helmsley TT, Pickering, Whitby, Ripon, Pately Bridge and home. Blue bank above Whitby.

Anyone else ever go on a Thursday ? Decent cafe and every now and then they have a wheelie machine trundled out. I'm usually there every week but I think it'll end for this year at the end of the month.

Some good roads up that way, one of my favourites is up through Wolsingham and St Johns Chapel through to Hartside.
