  1. So had an hours break after my Mod 1 test so had a quick mcdonalds lol fed and watered and ready to go.

I felt a lot more confident with this test than i did with my Mod 1.

It was very very busy riding through Ipswich but i felt relaxed and comfortable with the bike again.

I was asked to pull over 3 or 4 times and also demonstrate a hill start which considering how busy it was when it came to pulling off again there wasnt a car in site lol.

I havent got much to write up on this but i can say im over the moon to have passed i got 4 minors again one was for not changing the signal when coming off the roundabout but i did attempt it and accidently caught the horn lol which he pointed out.

now i just need to get a part for my bike then tax and insure it in the next couple weeks im so excited i cant wait lol

  2. I havent really posted in a long time as life has got in the way i have been trying to get ready for a comp after a year out with injury and also been busy with work but i had a week free last week and managed to get my lessons and tests booked for my direct access.

I thought id be a bit brave and i booked the mod 1 and mod 2 both in the same day lol (brave or stupid i still cant decide lol)

I got to the test center about 20 minutes to spare there was three of us on mod 1 that morning from the same training center i was up first out of all of us.

I hadnt ridden for about 4 days so i was a little nervous getting on to the bike and as i was called on to the training area i stalled it, after i restarted the bike and got onto the grounds i took a few deep breaths and composed myself.

Once i had settled into the task at hand i felt quite comfortable i got through all the manouveres without to much difficulty i did have to redo the avoidance a 2nd time as i was slightly to slow going through the speed gate i think i registered a speed of 47 on the second go i was at 51 this was the one i was dreading the most as i had a habit of knocking the cone over.

overall i got 4 minors but it was such a relief to get through this part.

ill post the 2nd part in the Mod 2 section

  3. Result mate.......knew it was the battery......

lol cheers mate it actually started up alot better than before aswell. Got to get Christmas out of the way now and get my test booked so i can get out on the road with it.

  4. Sounds like the starter relay buzzing.......could be loose terminals on battery.......try tightening the battery terminals.......other than that I think you'll need a.multimeter to check the battery voltage.....

You could try jumping it from a car battery.......just don't do it with the car engine running...... 8-)

Cheers mate will look into getting a multimeter and look at getting a new battery i will also check the terminals tomorrow.

If its the starter relay is that expensive to repair ?

Im hoping its the battery it doesnt last a week without needing charged

  5. Sounds like the battery is flat or knackered. I take it the 24-48 hrs was on a trickle charger and not just some ordinary car charger ?

The noise is almost certainly the solenoid and it's possible that's where the problem lies but given you've had to regularly charge the battery before being able to start the bike, you could have a problem with the alternator/rectifier/regulator if it turns out the battery is o.k.

I don't suppose you have a meter you can check the battery voltage with ?

Yeah it was a trickle charger i used. Unfortunately i dont have a meter to check the battery but ill look at trying to get one this week.

  6. Hello all im not very technically gifted so ill try my best to explain.

I was riding my bike last week for a good few hours one day with no problems at all then garaged it when i got home the bike is constantly kept inside and sheltered.

Well on Saturday as i was getting ready to take the bike out it wouldnt start it would tick over but just wouldnt fire up then it died, i have had this problem before so i put it on charge for 24-48 hours which in the past worked no problem until now lol.

I hooked the battery up and turned on the ignition the oil light and neutral light came on as per usual but as i went to fire it up all i got was a loud buzzing noise from under the seat and sounds like its coming from the fuse box or within that area.

The bike i own is a Kawasaki 88 1500 Vulcan
