  1. I had similar issues with my ex. She belittled everything that I had done.

In the end after a lot of time and pain, I got out of there and have been happily single for quite a long time.

Yes sometimes I think id be happy in a relationship but then I go back to what happened and just go back to being happy being single.

Sorry I am not being much helpful but it just rang true with me.

You obviously know what you are doing and just keep at it.

    All the best regards Thomas

  2. I have just passed my direct access 15/06/2017.

The way I did it was. I did my cbt nigh on 2 years ago. I then decided not to do it. Late last year I wanted to do it.

January I was booked in for 4 days training inc test.

I fell off the training bike twice and lost my bottle.

I failed my mod 1 and then decided to buy a 125.

I bought my 125 and then went out with my father for a few months.

Once back into it I started using the training bike again then did mod 1 no minors and mod 2 3 minors.

The 125 helped me immensly but I am in no way a natural rider.

Do what you feel safe with.

    All the best Thomas

  3. I had 2 offs while training and cracked a rib. I stalled in the training yard on a bend and the handlebar went into my chest and they picked the bike off me. I got told when I felt upto it try again so I did that fell off 20 yards at the next bend and trapped my leg under the bike. But alls well as it never put me off and I have a shiny new licence

  4. Nice one mate......... 8-)

Yeah, progress at your own pace, never feel pressured into doing anything until you feel ready......build it up nice and slowly....... 8-)

I would recommend you get yourself on a BikeSafe course with the police if they do them near you.......they'll give you plenty of good advice...... 8-)

Thankyou I have spoken to my training school about going out to get more lessons but I will look at a bikesafe course.

    Thanks again Thomas

  5. Awesome stuff mate! Don't worry about sitting behind any traffic if you don't have to especially if its on something like a dual carriageway :D your bike will be faster than 99% of cars on the road. I don't think your dad would have a go if you do everything in a safe manner :thumb:

Thankyou my dad pulled alongside when we got to the toll booth and he was smiling asked if I was ok and said you enjoyed that didnt you. I couldnt hide the smile on my face

  6. As above I had my first ride out yesterday after passing my test on Thursday.

    My dad was following me.

We went to a local bike cafe called Chequered flag and had something to drink.

We went on a dual carriageway and I stayed behind the traffic as I would do on my little 125 Varadero.

We pulled in and my dad says " I thought you were going to get past the traffic"

Me personally would have loved to but I thought he might see it and give me a rollickin at the cafe.

I got a couple of quick pictures then went to Trago mills in Liskeard turned round then headed home.

I opened the throttle a little and overtook a car( please bear in mind I was on a straight and it was a dual carriageway and it was an old camper doing 35mph)

I probably be heard shouted Shiteing hell fire from the next village.

We got home and my dad washed and polished the bikes.

    Anyway a coupe of pictures.

    Thanks for looking in

    Thomas

  7. Thankyou everyone. Its a better result than I had in January where I fell off the bike twice during training and cracked a rib.

It has also ended my problems with tests.

Car test failed first time passed 2nd time

Tesco dot com driving assessment failed first time passed 2nd time

HGV class 2 failed first time passed 2nd time

HGV class 1 failed first time passed 2nd time

Mod 1 failed first time passed 2nd time

    Mod 2 passed first time.

My bike is taxed, Insured and ready to roll.

Thanks again everyone for all the advice put through on these pages

  8. also I seem to be spending alot of money on it.

Haha welcome to the wonderfully expensive world of owning a bike

Thankyou I must admit I'm seeing it as an investment more than anything else. Not money return but an investment in reliability as it's going to be looked after the best I can.

Thanks again. I keeps looking back at this thread as im stuck in my lorry till Friday evening so it's a nice little thing to think about

  9. So with the weather being a bit iffy yesterday I fitted a new exhaust cover on in the correct colour (silver).

Today though was a lovely day so checks were done and off we went.

Me on my varadero and my dad on the zzr600.

We had a great time and I was grinning from ear to ear.

We stopped off at a motorbike cafe and had a cup of tea to warm up a bit.

I think my skills seem alot better than when I did my direct access.

I looked round the corners rather than at them and went round tighter.

I also feel that not having a trainer there just my dad had calmed me down alot and made everything flow better. I just cannot wait to get back to training again and get my test done.

    Anyway pictures

This was before with a hand painted black cover.

I'm really smitten to be honest and cannot wait to get on it again.

    Thanks Thomas

  10. OOh I quite like the little Varadero

keep at it, it is a very unnatural thing when you first start riding but sounds like you have a good plan for you and the confidence should soon follow. Just try not to pick up too many bad habits

:thumb: We'll be congratulating you for your test passes in no time

Thankyou I think it would be a safer bet to do it this way at least I can choose how much I want to push myself rather than the instructor- Dont get me wrong the instructors were lovely but I just felt like everything was running away from me when I was doing it

Sounds like a great approach to take mate. Enjoy the practice, and there's no rush to move things on more than you want to!

Thankyou I must admit I must be getting more sensible in my older days 30 years old
