  1. So last year the rally was like a millions miles away from me, but this year its f**king 10minutes away hahah.

So i'll pop down on the Grom and you guys will be happy to know i'll lead the 125cc ride out if you like, so someone on a 1000cc doesn't have to sit at 40mph all day

Don't know if i'll camp yet as a taxi and my own bed is far more enticing, but i'll be there :3some: :3some:

  2. Had the beast 2 weeks and done 600 miles so i'd say i can give a good review so far.

Started off looking like the below picture, all standard

    12705515_10207472381281013_4328482309240252786_n-2.jpg.a7b7e579ea80706f15cba65b10a0d4ef.jpg

Modded it more to my taste with proper Maxxis 6024 tyres, Renthal RC high fat bars, evotech tail tidy and the full Black widow exhaust.

    Performance.

It's a 125 so it'll do 60 easy enough but don't expect more more. But for me thats not what it's about and 60 is fast enough off road :D

It keeps up with traffic fine even on NSL roads.

    Comfort

With the new wider but lower bars it's perfect for me, nice reach and i'm still upright. lots of room for my legs even though i'm 5"11. seat is great even for 150mile days.

    Style

I love it now, i think it looks awesome and it gets more attention than all the big bikes, except other custom bikes. I had 10 people surround me at Matlock asking questions last week!

    Price

Yes it's quite a lot but i got a good deal and paid a few hundred less than RRP, for a 2016 plate model too!

Everything else is so cheap it makes up for the initial outlay anyway!

The new tyres were £70 a pair fitted! i'm used to paying $140 per tyre fitted!!

    Economy

180MPG enough said, i get 150MPG and I'm flat out everywhere haha!

£4.50 to travel like 130-160miles is mentally cheap!

    Customisation

Well it's endless, you can build a scrambler, a racer, a slammed stretched cruiser, the MSX will do it all!

Big bore kits all the way to 235cc and thats without turbos! 30BHP in one of these is easy to get if you have ££££

    Finally

This thing puts more smiles on my face than any bike i've owned, i've put 600miles on it in 2 weeks, i don't even think i did that with my Ducati 749s!

As a second bike its great, its only weakness is soft front suspension and thats an easy fix with heavier oil or Ohlins inserts!

    BRRRRAAAAAP

Check my youtube for videos and video blogs of it in action

  3. I've been riding 8 years and your questions have mind boggled me haha, i couldn't actually tell you what i do anymore, i just do it.

Ermm, Always have command of your lane, and you only have to do a life saver to the right if turning right across on coming traffic, just to make sure no-ones there overtaking you or something stupid.

Don't do lifesavers both sides unless your going that way because your taking your eyes of the road or some bollocks.

Don't over think it and do what feels natural, if you fail you'll learn and have experience of what you did wrong etc.

Took me 3 attempts to pass but did so with a clean sheet. I learned the hard way

  4. Ollie,

As I am riding down and Sue will be taking the car - we will have room for you (and your 'kit') should you wish it.

Current plan is to leave mid-morning on the Friday and 'escape' around mid-morning on the Sunday.

Also happy for you to come over to Brampton on the Thursday evening and stay over (that way, there is no rush and you get a 'free' breakfast).

    Over to you..... PM me.

    Al

And people call him a Grumpy Old Git??

    He's a cutie at heart.

    :3some:

  5. I think i'd get the bike running sweet as a nut as a priority also upgrade brakes and set up suspension. Then i'd look for more power without taking the bike away from it's roots, it's never going to be quick in sports bike terms but i think with a few mods it would be a great road bike.

I'm very much a person who puts money vs gain on a chart and i don't see the benefit here.

So i'd stay away from big bore kits personally. I know it's no help as he's made his decision but it's my 2 pence worth.

Bikes are meant for fun and modding and doing unusual things is fun. ignoring money i'd stick a f**king turbo on it :D
