To be honest I did think about making the tool myself. I have an old socket that would fit in there great. But I'm not the best at things like that , and then thought sod it. I'll have this bike for at least the next two years, may as well spend it for the proper part

I would like to thanks you all for helping me sort my clutch problem out. I had to wait for the stupid honda tool to remove the centrifugul oil filter. But i can at least get my gears now. Im still having a few problems, possibly with timings, i can get the bite in gear, even get going, but i seem to get a bit of juddering when letting go of the clutch. But im going to take it in for a service and let them sort it out for me Thanks all.

its the tool for the centrifual filter i need, well just ordered. cant get clutch plates off till that is removed as it partly covers them. On the good side though, flew through my cbt no problem could it be a gear problem. just askin to try and cover all the bases.

The bike has oil in it, and to be honest the other day was the first time i tried it in gear. hd so many other jobs to do on it to get it running. i do know in the time it was running before, maybe 5 years before it went into storage, it was never serviced or checked over by the previous owner.

tried pushing the bike in 5th gear, couldnt get the damn wheels to turn
-
when i stopped it with the rear brake the bike just shut down again. tried 3 times, each time same result
-
Yeah tried stopping wheel with back break, made no difference. Just going to strip them out. gotaa by the stupid tool now for the special nut. thanks guys.

The bike was sat in a garage for 4 years, then outside for 2, unused. The i got it. It was dropped on its right side at some point, but was still working fine after that. The bike does roll fine when not in gear. The bike wont roll when in gear, even with the clutch pulled in. I dont ride yet. I'm taking my cbt on friday. But the problem is not with me releasing the clutchtook quick. It runs fine on the centre stand, lets me change gear with the back wheel in the air. The problem is when the bike is in the ground. Its like the added grip off the concrete makes it jump. It will run in neutral with clutch pulled. its when on the ground, as soon as i tap down into first.

tried that and makes no difference. Also tried pushing it in gear as i was told that tis can release the clutch plates if they are stuck

no side stand, only a centre stand, and i read that the cg was before they introduced them
-
To be honest its an old honda cg , ive looked but cant even find a stand switch, and cant find anywhere on the net that tells me where it is
-
As simple as that, am i just tightening it, sorry complete novice

Whenever i try to go into first from neutral the bike lurches forward, and then shuts off. The lights are still on and all electrics still work, but the bike just dies.

Hi all. i changed the front sprocket today, the chain was over stretched so i ordered a front /back sprocket and chain replacement set from choho. the front sprocket turned up with 14t, which is what the website said i would need for my bike 2006 honda cges brazil. howerever when i took the old one off its a 15t. will it make much difference if i use the 14t, is it going to knacker up my engine. thanks pete

would running something like a carb cleaner do the job, i'm new to bikes, and cleaning the carb looks like a complicated job

thanks for your help all. i stripped the starter motor, and found that one off the bushes had rusted into the housing so wasn't in contact with the copper in the middle. Now it starts first time all the time. the only problem now ( and im sorry to be a pain), is that the engine will keep going so long as i have a bit of pressure on the accelerator, but if i let the revs off then the engine wont idle, it just stops. Could this be the spark plug, or is it maybe down to the small amount of old fuel i had to leave in because i couldnt get it out, apart form the idling it goes and sounds great.

The old battery was replaced as the bike had been standing in garage for 5 years

I got this battery YTX5L-BS Motorcycle Battery for Honda 150cc CRF150F 2007, from amazon (https://www.amazon.co.uk/YTX5L-BS-Motorcycle-Battery-Honda-CRF150F/dp/B01DOITE0G/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1474324377&sr=8-4&keywords=YTX5L-BS" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). its the right battery, and i fitted it when fully charged, and although it turns the bike on ,powers lights and everything else, the bike wont actually turn over. in fact as soon as i try, the battery reads empty.if any of you could take a look at my facebook i've got a short video of it on there, peter savage, you cant miss it, my picture is of my son holding his first fish. any help really apreciated. thanks
