  1. Sorry it took awhile to get back to you. No this is a temporary bike till the cg is back on the road again. I'll wait for the groans to end. Its Chinese..................... Junlin Texan 125-11. Its a copy of the Suzuki marauder. Its actually a nice bike, still rust free well maintained, and apart from a few problems really good.
  2. the tyres are the ones tht came as stock on the bike, but the bloke who had the bike before me, put a new speedo on it, as he was gonna try to make the bike into a chopper/bobber typre thing
  3. it was serviced in january this year, same day they did the mot but will check the spark plugs tomorrow
  4. I got a new bike, its used but in good nick. two problems though. 1st - The speedometer is not showing the correct speed, when i was doing 38 going past one of those speed warning signs, my bike showed me i was doing 48, can i adjust or do i need a new speedometer. 2nd- When pulling off in first, the accelleation is really sluggish, then seems to kick in all of a sudden, and once ive been going ten minutes or so its fine, only happens in first, anyone know why. thanks
  5. Its a 2004 brazil model, with the disc brake. Insurance wont pay out, because the bike was only worth 500 and that was the excess, damage to the bike works out to about £450. And there are 3 reasons i want to fix it. Firstly, because its mine, and i hate seeing things not working, besides ,as i know very little about bikes, and the cg's are supposed to be the easiest in the world to work on, i get to learn as i repair. Secondly because it's my first bike and im a little attached to it, i got it as a non starter, and got it working, i shall do so again. Thirdly, because i wont let the little shits win.
  6. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorcycle-Odometer-Speedometer-LCD-Digital-Gauge-For-Honda-CG125-Cafe-Racer/302512435723?hash=item466f25720b:g:V4cAAOSw8axZ~E8p I got my bike back, from the thieving gits , but unfortunatley they have done a lot of damage. Theyve cut all the wires going in to the speedometer unit, then smashed the unit off. i was wndering if it would be possible to fit the above speedometer on, and if it would work, the socket looks the same, so im hoping it willl just click on and work. They also put a hole in the fuel tank, bent the foot rest up against the engine, smashid all the body panels off, and destroey all the indicators. It was also stuck in second when i got it back, so i presuming the clutch is shagged. thanks for your help.
  7. An ice cream man was found dead in a ditch, covered in hundreds and thousands. police reckon he topped himself.
  8. I took my bike to a garage the other day, for a general check over, not a service or anything like that. the mechanic informed me that something was wrong with the pistons or the rings, cant remeber exactly what he said, but he told me it would rquire the engine being stripped and rebuilt. how much at a rough guesss would i expect to pay for that, he quoted me 450-500 quid.
  9. Fleck, as nice as that bike is, and as much as i'd love it ( and believe me i would). Im still on my cbt licence. The reasons i was looking at the sinnis are. Firstly money, im on pretty much a minimum wage job, so need cheap, and out of the cheap bikes this is among the best of the bunch. Secondly its got a low seat, is was injured in the forces, and am now waiting on new hip. getting my leg over a higher bike is difficult and painfull. Thirdly, and i suppose less importantly, i really like the styling of the bike.
  10. Hiya. I was wandering if anyone had any thoughts or knowledge of the Sinnis hoodlum. I've got my heart set on one, but can't find any reviews for it anywhere.
  11. Does anyone know the size of pipe I need to replace the fuel line on a Brazil cg 125, the model with the front disc brake. I've looked everywhere and can't get an answer. The problem is that I seem to be using more fuel than when I first got the bike (at the same time as passing my CBT). And after checking everything else I'm wandering if I've got a small split and am losing some fuel that. I was spending £7 every two weeks, now its more like £12 every two weeks. The money isn't a issue its the keeping the bike in proper order that's bugging me. Thanks
  12. Can anyone tell me the best way to stop fogging on the visor of my helmet. i brought a proper stuff called shift-it helmet visor anti-fog. but it dosent seem to work too well, unless im just using it wrong thanks
  13. Hiya. My front brake caliper on my honda cg needs replacing. I've already stripped it down, but some of the bolts are so rusted and corroded that i dare not put too much force on them. I decided just to replace the whole caliper, better safe than sorry, as the brake pads seem to be constantly rubbing on the disc, not matter how much i tr to adjust them. My problem though is in finding a replacement unit, there seems to be loads of caslipers that come up on my search, but none of them say that they are compatable with a cg. could someone please give me a heads up as i really dont know whart im looking for. ( honda cg es 2004 front disc brake edition). thanks all.
  14. Yes its me again sorry . Going in to work this morning (4 oclock), i noticed that my headligt was very yellow and very weak. From i can see on the net this is normal for a honda cg. but to be honest im not very happy with it. is it possible to replace the headlight or at least the bulb with haloen or led, and if so, whatsort of wattage voltae should i be looking at. thanks
  15. Just a thought, but I went through similar problems with mine, Bad performance, kangaroo, black spark plug. Turned out my air filter needed changing. I'm probably wrong, but take a look anyway, it's always good to be able to eliminate something.

  17. Hiya. Now I've got my bike up and running, I'm looking to clean it up. What's the best way to get the aluminium oxide off without completely stripping the engine down. Thanks

    bike kangaroos

My bike was travelling fine for 40 mins then all off a sudden, it was like i had lost power and the bike was kangarooing, lurching forward but only travelin at about 10 mph. It also seems too be going through the petrol quite quick. Anyone have a clue what this is. thanks

    Mot pass

Took my lil old CG for it's mot today ,and it passed. The last time it was done was in 2009 which was also the last time it was ridden. So thank you folks, I have never owned a bike before and certainly never worked on one, and with your help, and a lot of swearing cursing and bloody knuckles, it was brought back to life. Thank you all.
  22. Thanks for the fast replies guys. The batteries is a gel one. Being a new rider and with the high possibilities of losing it at some point I thought a gel one safer. And the tank is three quarters full. So I guess that only really pages cleaning out the carb again
  23. Ok then. sorry for the continuing saga. Tested my bike after cleaning the clutch, and found that it worked but was very clunky when changing gear, andtended tostall easy. But otherwise was working fine. Decided to change the clutch plates anyway, so after soaking new ones overnight i came home today an changed them. The old ones were fairly worn down. Also did an oil change. To make life easier i did as advised, and laid the bike on its side, after emptying out the old oil. Changed the plates, no problems. Stood it up, replaced the oil. Turned the bike on started it up great, on the centre stand. Changed in to first , great no clunk. Revved the accelerator, engine died. Did this twice> Then the engine would turn on then slowly start to die, the sound of the engine slowling down then just stopping, then eventually not coming on at all. What the hell have i done, everything was working all right before i tried to sort the clutch. I had the damn thing booked in for an mot saturday.
  24. I must say that my experience of the CBT was great. I went a centre in Kingstanding for mine near a little church. I paid £140 for the gauranteed pass. The instructor there was really great bloke, took things at my pace, always happy to stop and answer questions. All in all he turned a day of nerves into a very chilled fun day.
