I know how you feel with your xr ,s wiring problem I had similar problems I put a second hand left side switch on and it cured the problem if you take switches apart they have a tendersency of exploding into loads of bits so I have learnt not to tamper with them good luck with your problem sounds like your getting loads of help

    can any one tell me what size petrol pipe I need as the one I am using makes the bike smell of petrol , there is no leaks as far as I can see

  4. stripped the loom down cleaned every connection and earth ing point still does it so im thinking now its the switch as I have never been able to put a switch back together ive ordered a new one , if that don't cure it I don't know what to do next
  5. seem to have developed a problem with my indicators as the one that flashes the opposite side gives a weak signal

  7. after a while brake dust accumulates in the drum this can make a noise try pushing the bike backwards and see if this helps but you will need to clean out the drum no mater what

    well I went for the 150 barrel and recon head . fitted it yesterday this morning it ran for the first time sounds ok no rattles or knocks so its fine one thing that had me worried was while the engine was out I could not change gear it just went from 2nd 3rd but no further seems fine now its running once the heat wave passes I will get it out on the road , will have to run it in .with a top end rebuild will it need 500 mile run in
  10. on my loncin petrol pours out of the over flow pipe when left standing ,this may happen every week or a month between this happening I have stripped the carb down cleaned it out but it happened again today, if I forget to turn the petrol tap off when I park up , I could come back to a bike with a empty tank I will strip the carb again but what am I looking for that I missed

    stripped the barrel and head cant see anything wrong with any of it drained the oil it was thin black but no metal fragments in it the oil filter was fairly clogged up so cleaned it out and pui it back found a firm who does the barrel for 129 with all the gaskets recon heads 55 giving it some thought over the next few weeks if its not the head that's rattling got any ideas as to what else would cause this

    took the head and barrel off my xr today , now I need to clean up the surfaces any one got any tips as to get the old gasket off that's stuck fast

  17. ive had a Chinese loncin a 107 Honda innover clown had it three years now , parts are cheap , given me no problems , but its serviced and checked over weekly , done 7000 miles now , depends on the make and your attitude to maintenance if you look about you will see Chinese bikes every were have a word with there owners see what they have to say

    passed my test years ago so no problem will inform insurance as well if I carry it out think I will strip it down first and have a look at whats worn out then decide what to do

    not looking for more speed just want to do the engine up ,so thought while im at it might as well fit a 150 barrel as it uses same head and carb, im in no rush with this job so I thought I would sound out your thoughts if any one has done the same how much did it cost and was it worth it
  20. as you probably know ive got a 03 Honda xr125 that's giving me a few problems the latest is its ratley from the top end, rides ok but I really want to sort it so over this summer I will put a 150 barrel in it, but I would like to get a new head or reconditioned one , there's no rush as ive got other bikes to ride any way does any one know were I can get a recon head from, nearer the south coast the better

  22. I see on the 2004 xr 125 engine there is no kick start but there is a cut out for one on 2008 they fitted a kick start again so has any one fitted a kick start to a non kick start engine if so how difficult will it be

  24. had same problem as you it turned out to be a corroded connection at the junction between the regulator and the battery, just pull the connecter apart and check the pins

    will have a closer look tomorrow must admit the carb was covered in petrol but that probably was the pipe
