Thanks for your replies guys ...
Actually the 023 is not available from this online seller. You have a good source? My friend has the 020 on his K8 GSX-R 1000 and loves them to bits...
Another note is I never drive in the wet/rain.

Ok I have got Bridgestone's 016 fitted to the bike at the moment...
They have worn down in the middle to the replace marks. I am going to go for a new set and the more I read and speak to owners of various brands the more I become confused . I do not have any criticism for my Bridgestones 016 but since I am going for a new set I want to make sure I get the best I can afford .
Prices are somewhat crazy here in Malta (EU) so I have decided to buy online. I have been suggested an online retailer. I have searched long and hard and I think I found a decent online seller . I have narrowed my choice to one of these:
- Metzeler M5 = 230 Euros
- Diablo Supercorsa SP = 270 Euros
- Michelin Power Pure = 220 Euros
At the moment I am heavily leaning towards Michelin power one. I ride mainly fast street with some touring and maybe 1-2 track session/year. Tarmac here is not very abrasive and sticky so I need soft tyres that grip. Longevity is not that much of an issue as I only ride 2000-3000 miles a year if that.
I absolutely LOVE to lean hard so a tyre with very soft, grippy sides will be my first choice. Thanks for any help in advance .
PS: Can you suggest any good online sellers that have good prices & ship to Malta? Thanks again !

I have just fit the bike with a new free flowing exhaust can to my GSX-R 600 K4 and though I am chuffed to bits with the sounds I can feel that the engine has felt the difference...
Below 3000rpm the bike has no power and when pulling off it requires more throttle than before, but then it feels more eager to rev at high revs and the sound is super.
Now my question is if I decide to fit a power commander to the bike would I be able to take it off the bike and fit it on to the new bike with minimum hassle if I decide to upgrade in the future? Would the PC need a rolling road session or a downloaded map should do? Thanks!
Also do I risk damaging the engine with no PC (therefore standard fuelling) and a free flow can?

Whereas mine are crap and decomposed?
There's a lot of experience to be had on here - and nearly everyone is happy to help.
haha...no offense meant of course...

I have about six pairs of gloves, at the last count, for my different moods and conditions.
Buy quality and look after them and they'll last for years.
I've come off loads of times and never had a problem with knuckle damage. Abrasion resistance and a secure fit are my priorities, after comfort and feel.
Don't be swayed by labels. Some famous companies charge a lot for rubbish and some independants charge little for quality.
Kangaroo skin is said to give best abrasion resistance.
Check all the stitching before you buy. Give them a good pull about. Long ones keep out more draughts and short ones let in a welcome cooling breeze.
Oil or wax will keep skin gloves weather proof.
Thanks mate...I really appreciate your replies...they always seem so composed and helpful....
Will do that...thanks

I don't really see that much of a huge difference, and I think long/short gloves dont really make a difference to be fair.
Neither of them seem to have kevlar knuckles though? If you want maximum protection, get some with some decent kevlar on the knuckles!

Just a quick example of kevlar gloves.
No Kevlar...yes I am aware that Kevlar is very light and strong and is very very good in taking impacts (the best composite I can think of) but then there is the price. I have a budget that I have to stick too...so not exactly in my range...
Many polymers are very strong and tough and I believe should offer adequate protection for a much lower price...

Fit is more important than fashion - buy an ugly well-fitting lid over a pretty loose one any day.
Yeah that's what I thought. Thanks....

Thanks guys. Actually it felt a bit tight but only on the face. Also it hugged all the head quite well. Clearance was only present at the top which is normal I believe...maybe cause I shave my hair too low ....

I am deciding between 2 alpinestars gloves but am not sure if I should go for long gloves or short ones. Mainly the AFK street golve which is short and the SP-3 which is the long one.
On a race bike I believe that the added support of the longer gloves helps the wrist more but then in summer when temps. are above 35 deg. Celsius will they become too much?
Also does the SP-3 offer more protection? Thanks for your opinion...

I went at my local bike shop to buy a helmet and saw some very attractive Marushin helmets. I asked to try one one. The shop owner told me that my size is a medium and handed me one of this size to try on.
I never had a full face helmet before and when I put it on it felt a bit tight to get it on and is not easy to move it on my face when being weared. The shop owner told me that the size is right as he says that the cushion will get softer (flatter) with use and will start to feel less tight. If I go for large he said it will then start to bother me by felling too big and move around etc...
So what is your opinion...? thanks!
Just fit new slip on to my '08 1000RR but no lambda socket?!

I have today received my long awaited FMF Apex from US. Have it already fitted it to my beloved '08 CBR 1000RR...
The bike now sounds deep and throaty from idling and evil and serious at anything past 6000rpm ...
I also like the CF finish. However the midpipe does NOT come with socket for the lambda sensor like the original OEM pipe?! I ran the bike without Lambda Sensor for a small test run and no check engine fault came on but I fear that it will run rich (create additional problems?). The ECU will have one less input as it stands..
I thought of drilling the midpipe, buying a metric SS nut and welding it onto it to fit the sensor. What do you think?!
Please do let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
