  1. But I'm of the opinion that if you're not posting anything you shouldn't be posting then it really doesn't matter, in which case I vote 'no' to anonymity.

It all boils down to liberty vs security again doesn't it? :)

  2. I'm undecided if it's a good thing or not, but then again I don't post derogatory, slanderous comments about people.

But I will add though, that I shouldn't have to disclose my identity on places like this forum if I don't want to, and if any criminal activity was to be linked to my activities, anonymous or not, I could be traced easily back to my ISP. Unless I use proxy or two to reroute my connections (which joe bloggs wouldn't have the foggiest how to do), then it becomes increasingly hard to track :)

And besides, who's saying I don't just lie about who I am? how could anyone prove it?

  3. pc gaming ftw as long as u have a powerfull pc :D

    Just swapping my Core 2 Quad Q6600 (SLACR G0) for a new Core i5 2500k, with 8GB of 1600Mhz DDR3 and an HD5870 1GB GDDR5, I think that should play BF3 on at least low settings :)

Also, for more precise mouse control, google "markc mouse acceleration fix windows 7"

As it suggests, it removes mouse acceleration under windows 7 so that it's linear and predictable. My K/D ratio on BF:BC2 definitely went up after that

  4. A guy where I work entered the company's share scheme, he put in 9k over 3 years, and got about 24k back at the end of it.

so the shares went down then!!

to be honest i can see it just growing and growing as they have their hand in everwhere and profit is just getting higher and higher each year

No the share price went up, he put in 9k total over the duration of 3 years, at the end of it, he got back 24k. That's 2.6 x the investment back!

Here, they guarantee that you'll get back at least what you put in if the market goes south, if that's the case with your workplace, then it's a no lose situation

  5. I was playing a game on my computer, where I was driving a large hummer (4x4) and i took a corner too wide, trying to get a tighter corner i actually found myself leaning left on my chair... Now if it was real world, a hummer is heavy so jumping around in it wouldn't effect its steering, let alone the fact it is a game...

Spose its a god thing though, its now just second nature to lean into the corners whatever i am driving, in the real world or not haha

Haha, I know what you mean, I tend to do it when I'm playing MotoGP or other bike racing games on consoles . But I also do it if I play any car racing games

  6. Wish i never lived in a terraced house, cant get around the back as its a communal garden so i have to store my bike some 250m away in public garages... And the council won't allow us to put a "shed/storage" in the front garden.

    F**K it..

I though they couldn't say anything if it was a temporary building (i.e. wooden) ?

  7. hell yes! Also pre-ordered battlefield 3 for PC 8-) , Modern warfare 3 looks pretty much the same as MW2, so I probably wont bother with that straight away

Yay BF3 for pc good man!

Indeed, FPS on a console is just plain wrong, plus my gaming rig will take full advantage of the DX10 (or is it 11) that BF3 will throw at it, console won't look nearly as good (of which I have both 360 and PS3) 8-)

  8. he's even lay in the incubator with his legs looking like hes riding an invisible bike ;) haha

Haha excellent, starting him early I see :thumb:. Well anyway congrats, and I hope everything stays positive, and that little fella will help to solidify your relationship with your missus, as this is what the original thread was about

  9. Sooo, basically, last night nic was hooked up to a machine that monitered the baby's heartbeat and checked for contractions. The heartbeat was fine, no contractions picked up so they sent me home.

Got home around 4, text message this morning at 8:20am saying get back to the hospital, by the time I arrived at 8:50 she was being stitched up  the baby was born weighing 5.1lb 8 weeks premature. He's in an incubator, I've spent pretty much all morning with him and nic is doing really well.

    Crazy, its just a blur....

Wow. Is 8 weeks a lot premature? Hope everything goes alright for you!

  10. Looks an interesting watch, might set it to record on sky+ (EDIT: Might be on sky anytime?).

I remember that day (9/11), my dad and I were in the travel agents getting our currency changed about to go abroad for the first time....and that was on the news

I was bricking getting on the plane to say the least, I was only 11

  11. is it "safe" and often quite common for new riders to straight from doing a cbt onto a das course? my dad always tells me experience counts for a lot when it comes to riding and i dont want to silly and go straight from my cbt into doing a das and then having an major off a week into riding a "big" bike.

I agree with your dad, experience does count for a lot. But whether it's safe to do that or not depends entirely on your mentality, and how confident (more importantly, over confident) you are. Remember, speed and perceived danger is directly linked to your wrist

  12. Spent sometime looking into this, your initial outlay will be around the 15k mark and should have paid for it's self in approx 10yrs.

You will of course never be without a lecci bill coz the sun don't shine at night, and therefore you need to use it from the grid, but you will not use all you generate during the day which you sell at a set price to the grid. The hope is that you will recieve more back per quarter than you pay.

The ones who supply and fit for free are renting your roof for 25yrs, you get free lecci during the day but they get the mony for the surplus sold to the grid for the duration of the 25yr contract. after that time you will then get the money, so you get slightly smaller bills but no payback.

If you don't have the initial capital to buy the panels yourself, I don't see an issue really with companies renting your roof etc. Though I wouldn't want to be tied in for so long =/

  13. Sidi Vertigo boots

    Price: around £170

These were more expensive ones than I usually buy, as I seem to ware down cheaper boots quite quickly (soles coming apart etc)

    Pros

    Very comfy boots

The calf adjustment system is excellent

    Replaceable plates (toe sliders etc)

    Aesthetically pleasing (imho)

    Cons

Incessant squeak unless treated with a squirt of WD40 / silicon etc (this is a well known quirk)

Little in the way of ankle protection

Zip handle broke in around 8 months, this may be due to me being too rough with it.

I'd definitely have another pair, they seem to have lasted more than twice as long as ever other pair of boots I've bought in the past. They survived a SMIDSY with some cosmetic damage, but I'd rather the plastic is grazed than my skin!

  14. On my HTC wildfire, hold in the power button and you are presented with a dialog box.

Look at the bottom and you'll see Mobile Network (Data connection is On/Off). Clicking it toggles the state

On Android 2.1, I had to go into Settings - > Wireless and Networks - >Mobile Networks - >Access Point names (or APNs) -> Your carrier (Mine's O2) -> APN type and choose an option that doesn't include internet

  15. I got some of these when I got my first set of tyres (others were squared off when I bought it),

    avon-tyres.co.uk/motorcycle/storm-2-ultra

It was purely by chance, because they were all they had that would fit my wheels at the time! (150s)

Ive done 8k miles on them over a year and a half, and they've still got loads of tread left, hardly look worn tbh.
