  1. Been in electronics retail and service for over 30 years, never ceases to amaze me how some people view deception and theft in shops as acceptable yet out of the shops they frown upon it :?

Earlier in the thread someone said you don't get much for free in life so best keep the bag! ummm by taking the bag back and paying for it Scorpion got a 10% discount card and is potentially quids in now compared to the dishonest £20 he'd have made

I've had it happen a few times over the years, the vast majority have been honest good natured people who came back and squared up the deal, a couple even came back and paid because their religion says they should, found that kinda freaky though! I guess whether you go back or not depends on the society you live in, a deprived inner city area and you're gonna keep the bag...... a small town with a community spirit and you might be more inclined to a sense of fair play. :)

Agreed, think of the poor staff member in that 'big chain' that made the mistake... They are the ones that will suffer not the company.

  2. Right, I have a new to me 2004 Honda CBR 1000rr (which is awesome i might add!).

I noticed after the first ride that the chain needed adjusting, while carrying this out I have discovered a tight spot in the chain. I've adjusted it so the tight spot isn't so tight and the rest of the chain is slightly slacker than it should be.

After a brief ride out to test things I have noticed it's running a tad nosey, seems to be the front sprocket (which is in good condition).

Should I get a new chain and sprocket set fitted?

    Matt.

  3. Really mate? I thought it was ok to leave them on permanently?

It says you can in the instructions and is surpossed to turn off etc..., but I fitted a new battery to a bike once and that particular year I only used the bike half a dozen times. The rest of the time it was connected to the optimate, and after one year the battery was useless.

Thanks for that, will investigate with the R6 which has a new battery on and see how we go.

  4. It could be the Optimate ruining your battery. I've killed a battery or two using mine, now I just use it if the batteries low, and only for 12-15 hours max

Really mate? I thought it was ok to leave them on permanently? I put a new battery on yesterday and it started with a new vigor.. not sure if the hot start issue has been fixed though. Will nip out on it tomorrow and see.

  5. The R6 starts fine from cold and is kept on an Optimate 24/7.

When it's hot, say i've just stopped for fuel etc. it'll only start with me holding a small amount of throttle for say 1-2 minutes then it will tick over fine again. Also if I cock up and don't catch it on the throttle it'll only stomach a couple of goes at starting before the battery dies.

Any ideas ?? Choke issue ? New battery needed ??

    Cheers in advance..

  6. There's a run from the Bedol pub in Bethel, Caernarfon at 11am. heading down to Llanrwst where a group are setting up camp and BBQ then we're off out on a run and aiming to be back for 4/5pm for the BBQ. Some are camping overnight others are riding home after.

Caernarfon and district Motorcycle club, first meeting was last Friday in the Bedol, They seem a nice bunch of people so I'm giving it a go.

Bugger just seen this :( waiting on ASDA delivery before heading out .. Will probably head round Anglesey.

  7. might be a bit far for an evening ride for ya but tomorrow evening (Wed 14th) 7pm there's a rideout from the square in Pwllheli to Bala via some scenic roads for some eats then home anyway that suits. Nice mix of people.... Llyn bikers.

Me, Houdini and another mate are expecting to head over from the Bangor area just after 6.

Jota, not seen you out on your bike for a while. Give me a shout next time you go out.

[email protected] do you now Jim Bowden ? He's with the Llyn Bikers.

    Matt.

  8. Yea it's gone up to £60 !

a guy delivering parcels to our work place got done for not wearing his seat belt the other week, copper gave him the ticket and with a right slimy smile said the fine had just doubled in price.

If everyone takes waterproofs it won't rain! from experience I know this to be true 8-)

Seeing as you can see what the weather is doing in the hills from your place that seems like overkill lol !
