I’ve attended the first 2 levels and really rated the course, while track focused I believe it helped my road riding significantly.
It’s a real shame to see this occur, I wonder if they had to pay royalties to the US company?

Hi! Im moving to Fleet shortly so would love to get involved in a few ride outs from here
-
Dreaming of sailing to Isle of Man for the TT race.
anyone deviant enough to have done so?
wasnt planing bringing a bike. wife says no
just gone one step further and moved there roll on the GP on the 20th
-
Gutted. Dosn't look to bad though.
Yea I got pretty lucky to be honest, super easy to high side round there! Bike was ok enough for me to ride it home, just a little smokey for a mile or so
I took your lots advice on the day and tried to keep lower on the bike and hang off more and I managed to be a lot more consistent with my times which I was pleased with managed to get quite a few laps around 57.5ish seconds.... Think that may be the limit to my ability as I def felt like I was pushing it, I'm sure if you got someone more able on the bike they would knock more time for lol

Ive done 3 at Brands Hatch on this bike anyway, 1 last year and 2 this year although might book a 3rd for August before i move to the IoM. ok well sounds like i just need to keep myself tucked under and hanging off the bike more, will try it during the sighting laps next time to see how it feels
this is a vid of my last evening at Brands, ive noticed i make lots of corrections mid corner which im sure isnt helping the situation...

ok just youtubed a bit of BSB at Brands Indy and from what i can see they tend to do the following
Shift arse off seat -> brake for corner -> Turn in -> drop head/torso right off the bike
that sound about right?
Coming out of clearways i find im generally fully hanging off the bike as your pic shows but around druids or surtees not so much... although looking at my pics it doesnt seem im in the correct position when entering the corner just when i exit it so theres room for improvement
-
You want adjustibal rear sets. Stock pegs are to low.
Body position isnt just getting a arse cheek of the deat you need to lean forward and try to touch your helmet on you hand
hmmm ok will get myself booked onto another track day at try to force myself to keep hanging fully off the bike when cornering, not sure how easily i will manage it on the slower corners but i will give it a go
-
Do you mind if i message you a couple pics of my body positioning for you to advise on? I feel like ive got half my arse off the seat but you mean be right
Stick them up here mate, no need to be shy.
I had stock pegs until recently and scraped them and my boots, even if I hung my bollocks right out. Still waiting to get some spare time to test the new ones out...
best pics i could find of my arse, sorry i mean body positioning any thoughts?

Scraping footpegs..... is this a sign i am leaning the bike too far while on track or should i look at getting some adjustable rearsets that might be a bit smaller etc
Yes you need to work on your body position. If your scraping pegs then you havnt got far before you reach edge of tyre or something solid on the bike which will both have you off.
My body form was bad and i was scraping boots and pegs as i was only half heartedly getting my arse off the seat and twisting my upper body which i was told is pointless as im not decreasing lean angle of the bike at all

-
Yay another from the homeland...
Gimme a shout (PM) and we can sort something out. loads of places to go with the challenge 100 stuff.
thanks, sounds good! I still need to bring my bike down here so hopefully soon need to find somewhere safe to store it first

Hi! I have recently moved to Maidstone and don't know too many people in the area... Can anyone recommend any local bike nights or ride out clubs etc
-
ART mate.
Their tester must be broke because i got 98db on tuesday and 105db the tuesday before
yea sounds like it, my stock exhaust at brands read 92db so not too bad
-
Mine runs between 100db and 105db with a aftermarket can on.
what exhaust do you run? ive been thinking of picking up an RS-5
-
yea its a shame, was hoping for Netflix as i already subscribe to it. Will be interesting to see what they come up with
-
I've been thinking about doing a track day/evening aswell.
Not sure if it's a good idea as it's my only bike and I cannot afford to replace it.
Really want to do it though.
im in the same situation, just dont push too hard and you will be fine its infinity safer than riding on the road as long as you keep your ego in check
-
ok ive booked a novice evening session at brands hatch to see how i feel, if thats all good i will move up to inters in september
-
ok ive not done any track days for 2-3 years and ive only been back on a bike for 6 weeks after a 18 month break.... im looking to get on a track day at brands hatch but unsure what group to go for?
I always used to go for Inter's and was reasonable confident but not sure if i should go novice considering its been some time since then? any thoughts?
-
how often do they do a bike night down in poole? might make the trip down there one day
-
my nomination goes to the idiot in a blue van in Fleet that decided to give me an impromptu test of my ABS by swinging out of a side road at the last minute gave me the classic smidsy shrug of his shoulders
Has everyoen stopped commuting for the winter?

Nope I did the opposite, got out of the car and back on the bike for winter hadn’t ridden since June and got back on in October for the commute
Partly because my mileage changed and partly because the summer riders have gone which makes the commute more enjoyable
