If it's the same 'international company' I'm thinking of they were doing money off when you trade your old gear in as well, not sure if that's still going though.

S Doc 100 is good stuff too, it's not the cheapest though, so it's best kept for deep cleaning.

As I said, I find base layers work for me, experiment with different combinations. There's no harm in having a set or two for the winter anyway.

I find that base layer type stuff is more comfortable, as opposed to sweating into my jacket/trousers. I always wear something between my skin and my bike gear, including liner gloves and neck tube.

To re-iterate; don't use too much. I went up in a cloud of blue smoke when I started up after getting carried away with the stuff. Also, as stated earlier, at £12-15 a can I wouldn't go flinging the stuff about.

Some bikes oil level sight glass refers to when the bike is on it's side stand (NSR125), some when it's upright. Can cause a headache if you're not sure which and end up over filling

Your in an ideal position to get a decent anchor put right down into the floor of the garage. Something along the lines of this; http://www.yanchor.com/ Once installed, it's completely flush with the floor, there's no attacking that without some pretty hefty tools and lots of noise.

I wear an Arai TourX3, it's absolutely excellent, I've got a pinlock visor so misting isn't a problem. I've tried it with goggles and I didn't like it. The only advantage I can see in using goggles is better ventilation when you're wrestling the bike around off-road. A well designed, visored, peaked helmet should be stable at speed, I was out on a friends R1 a few weeks back and hit some pretty nasty speeds (on private land of course) and didn't have a problem. Last week I did 630 miles on my Versys in one day with the screen lowered and I was fine, my backside was hurting long before my neck. You shouldn't have a problem with the wind at MX/Green lane speeds.

£40 sounds great for a Givi box. Givi also make Kappa which is of similar quality without the bells and whistles, they also fit straight onto Givi racks, so keep an eye out for Kappa stuff. There's also a lot of Chinese one's kicking about for around the £20 mark, they don't have the build quality of Givi but they're alright for the money. They go by various names (My old one was a 'Tech25'), point to note; Oxford have now started sticking their badges on them and added a tenner to the price, so be wary.

Newcastle Rider Training at Lemington looked after me. Depends which one is local to you, there's a good one over the east end too (Art of Motorcycling) and there's one right next to the test centre at Dunston (A1 Motorcycle school), I have friends who have used all three and they all recommend them. There's countless one's dotted about in between, I don't know anyone who's used any of them though.

I don't bother with leathers, I've tried a few different brands and never got on with any of them. Look a tit riding an adventure bike with leathers on anyway IMO. My girlfriend has a one-piece and it's the most impractical piece of clothing I've ever seen, no pockets, draughty, can't fit boots/gloves under the hems, a pain in the a**e to wash, need to be proficient in yoga to get the friggin' thing on.... All the things I don't look for when buying bike gear.
