  1. Failing that I don't think the R3 will be too hard to spot.
  2. I should be there, a few lads from work normally turn up too.
  3. More or less what I do. I have a new one on the front at the minute, I had to bring the bike home from the fitters in the rain the other day, it was like riding a giant ice skate. As said above, there was no point even trying to scrub in those conditions so I just kept it as upright as possible all the way home.
  4. Very scenic, nice weather too, we're getting rained on over here.
  5. Brilliant write up, reminds me I need to get out on the bike more. Those camping pods are brilliant, the better half and myself spent a few nights in one at Eskdale, easier and comfier than a tent especially seeing as I had a skin-full every night.
  6. I'll have to see what's going on closer to the date.
  7. EDZ one piece under-suit, I've got five sets now so no excuse to go without. I've also got a two piece HG under-suit, it won loads of tests recently just in time for them to stop making it. Just bought a similar suit for £20 on offer at MCN, 'Urban under-suit' or something, haven't used it but looks like the same material as the EDZ ones. The EDZ and HG gear works a treat, can't say much about the 'urban' stuff yet.
  8. Yeah, I think I paid about that, I remember being surprised they were so cheap for official parts.
  9. Genuine Yam ones seem the best, I fitted some to my Girlfriends YZF-R125 and they seem pretty good, not that she's tested these ones yet.
  10. Congratulations mate, you can live up to your username now eh?
  11. Congratulations Mate.
  12. As said earlier, buy the best you can afford. I've spent over £2k in the past couple of months on new kit for the winter, £500 of which was just for my helmet and £700 on a textile suit. My new gloves (which are too warm to use at the minute) were £130. I don't think it's being extravagant/silly/OTT, it was the kit I wanted and I had the money to spare.
  13. I can't see why not. Bear in mind most 125s are designed to carry a rider and pillion, a few kilos of pedal bike isn't gonna make much difference. My only concern would be the weight distribution, i.e. it's all over the rear of the bike, but again, it's only a few kilos. I reckon someone with the necessary metal work knowledge could fabricate something like that for very little cost, all you'd need to get started would be a rear rack for your bike that they can work from.
  14. Poor timing for the event really, The Great North Run was on yesterday too.
  15. You're looking for something along the lines of this; http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=h ... 29,r:0,s:0 Surely they must be available in the UK somewhere.
  16. When I did my first 'old style' (ie, not mod1/2) test the examiner didn't hold a bike licence. I know this because my instructor mentioned it when he saw the examiner coming out. He said; "Argh not this prick, he doesn't even have his bike licence, he's absolutely clueless". Just what I needed to hear 30 seconds before my bike test.
  17. Which is actually good practice for everyday driving, encouraging smooth acceleration/deceleration/braking.
  18. I'm guessing he doesn't have his bike licence (as he was following you in a car), so he probably doesn't know to look for shite on the road, in other words; he didn't see it because he wasn't looking for it!! That's one (of the many things) that annoy me about the DSA, how can someone conduct a test without holding that category of licence themselves? It's happening more and more often too. To be honest, it's not worth chasing it up because the other fault was legitimate, so you'll not benefit from it.
  19. Whatever most suits your needs is the best.
  20. I'll not leave the house if it's raining. If I get caught in the rain once I'm already out, I'm not bothered. I bought my bike to use for fun, as a hobby etc. I don't see the fun in getting soaked and having to take it easy cause the roads are wet/icy. I don't see my bike as a means of transport so to speak, for every mile I do on the bike, I do 100 in the car.
  21. Definitely a new one!
  22. Just got in from work, got no chance of getting up Hartside in time. Looking forward to hearing about what I've missed...
  23. If I get out of work in time I'll be at the cafe, wont be going far, I'm back in work later on.
  24. And the officials are cack!! I had R&G bobbins on my 2009 ER6n, never tested them other than dropping the bike on it's side whilst manoeuvring it round the garden. Seemed alright though and saved damaging those expensive looking side panels.
  25. I think it's just gonna be a case of opening the curtains on that morning and hoping for the best. I'm at work until about midday but I'm still gonna try to blast up to the cafe in time to meet you lot. I'm gonna nip up there in about 20 minutes actually, just for the craic.
