There will be more to it than what is reported! .. The bike noise was probably the straw that broke the camels back.

Sorry but even if the victim was a complete to**er and would up his neighbours, bringing a giant knife out and stabbing some MULTIPLE times, and then having a go on some bystanders as well, still makes you the real to**er.

Hi I'm 5 foot tall and basically been told I can't get full bike liecence can anyone help

    Hello! Shorty here too (5'3).

They are talking shite - they basically mean 'we haven't lowered any of our MOD bikes to suit smaller riders and can't be bothered to'.
    So firstly, find another school.

Secondly, there are a few tricks up your sleeve if lowering a bike OR shaving the seat is out of the question when getting your big bike!

    • Look for riding boots with a good heel, that extra inch makes all the difference (he he😉)
    • Check out bikes with a more tapered seat, this will mean less straddling needed, and therefore more foot on the ground.
    • If the height is a confidence barrier, pick a more lightweight model - first bikes are rarely forever, so you can always 'move up' as confidence and skill grows
    • Plan your stops! Look ahead at the road in front - if it slopes, can you put the opposite foot down? Can you make use of a kerb? Should you park in a way that means you can get on and ride out, rather than walking it backwards as you went into the space front end first?
    • When parking up etc. Dont feel like you HAVE to do move it around still on the bike. Get off and walk it if it is easier. Better to safely move it around then try and look cool and drop it.
    • Use this website if you know your inside leg! It will help narrow down your bike search
    • Go to showrooms and sit on loads of bikes! Just because you are 5 foot doesnt mean your inside leg is petite. I'm considered petite but my inside leg is 30", so Im just short in the body really and petite trousers are too short normally!
    • You could go out on those green laning/motocross etc courses - those bikes are TALL but there's loads of handy skills to be learnt, from how to pick up heavy bikes through to controlling a bike at a stop when you can barely touch the floor.

If i think of anything else i'll add it, but I've only ever flat footed my 125 (just), everything else Im confident enough on the balls of my feet now.

The one that was trying to sell to me not my misses, she wanted a comfy bike as pillion. They were hell bent on selling features to me.

Yeah that's where I've been lucky i guess. Both me and the OH ride but I usually take more interest in the spec as bikes are more my thing, he still prefers cars. So it's usually me asking the questions. I only bring him along if I think I might miss a deal as he has no shame about haggling to the point of insulting the seller haha.

    gravel ..not good

So far the gravel I can cope with, it's the step that's the issue. Riding it up/down is the best bet but if it gets stuck in the middle then I can't reach the floor to balance and try again. If I walk it down then that's fine, but it always tries to tip the other way where there is no side stand......

Creating a ramp situ at present until we re-do the driveway. Even without bikes, I think gravel drives are shite.

  5. I embrace the idea of electric!
But i'll be waiting for the prices to drop to normal levels (I imagine the prices will be a bit of a joke off the bat) or the second hand market looks up. Also its the kind of thing where i wouldnt want to be the early adopter and wait for it to be a more polished product.

That looks great! Really like that colour scheme on it too. I picked up my Trident 660 on Friday. Haven't been brave enough to go out on it too much though.

I would say just pick a quiet day and go out by yourself, take your time so you can get used! Trident Im sure is a great bike, MT07 will be quaking!

  7. I would also recommend the MT07. But if you want a bit more of a fun which scares/ excites you at the same time (in A mode), skip the 7 and move to the 9.

I eventually fancy an R1 too but trying to work up to it in sensible, logical jumps!

  8. Nope, but then my last two bikes were 2015 and this one is a 2020 so would expect them to be ready to go!

I use mine nearly daily, so it's not like they have to sit about in the cold for weeks/months on end either. Might get a couple of mins on verrrry cold days though while I lock up/ gloves/ helmet/ comms on.

I agree with trying a dealer.  I just sold my bike to a dealer - they were offering more than I was getting offered as a trade in.  We agreed the price from pictures, emails and phone calls.  They came to collect it and made the bank transfer when they arrived so I had the money before they drove away with it.

Yes, this is my experience too. plus mine were from the county next door to mine so agreed a price based on my ad plus extra pics and videos, then they picked it up in a van the next day. bank transfer there and then in the garden lol, then just waited for me to to change over owner details online.
