  1. Hi all. I have a small tank bag that fits to a magnetic base with a quarter turn lock. I want to glue the bag to the base permanently for better security, I'm not concerned about having to remove the base as well as the bag if its glued on but as it is now its so loose I think it would fly of if I use it. I cant think of the name of the material but its the black stuff most cheap tank bags are made of. Any suggestions for the right glue to use. I have the usual pu tubes of sikaflex and stuff from Toolstation would that do? Thanks John.

Ive been caught out a couple of times missing bikes coming up quick, one time I hesitated filtering, I didnt think I had enough space then the next thing a rider with more confidence filtered very fast from behind me I hadn't seen him at all. Another time on a long straight country road I missed a bike coming from behind he passed me a bit too close and frightened me to bloody death.😀

  3. Off topic a bit, I am struggling to see how to upload my days riding footage from Gopro. I am planning a bit of a jolly in May, I want to upload photos and videos to a motorhome forum and also here if anybody is interested.

    Its easy enough to upload my pics and vids from my android phone but I want to use my Gopro as its only a few weeks old. The Gopro has very big files and even if I resize them they are too big and will not load onto the forum if I use the "attach here" box.

    What I need is a link for members to click on to see big files. I have spent hours on youtube and google and am almost beaten. I have google drive, a resizer, and the gopro quik app with subscription. If I upload from gopro quik app I have a few options to send to but I want to copy a link and post it at the end of my text on the forum.  I suppose its a clickable url that I'm after. Iv'e found one or two solutions on Youtube but they are messy and not straightforward.

    All the gear but no idea.😀

  4. I'm not sure about the MOT on Cat N but its needed on Cat S. I bought a Cat N Fazer with very little cosmetic damage, I got a new MOT test on the bike. I fitted a new indicator, repaired the headlight surround and a second hand mirror. They write all types of vehicles off these days with little damage because of high parts cost and labour rates.  Its a cracking bike and I dont think I will ever part with it. John.

  5. I have a new Classic 350 and love it. I think the Meteor has the same engine and frame, if you are not in a rush to buy and the weight is not an issue I would wait for the 650. As an old timer I bought mine with the weight in mind, being honest I do miss the power of my Fazer 600. So many riders tell me not to sell the Fazer as I will regret it. John.

    The idiots have closed Ferrybridge and its neighbour Eggborough power stations along with Kellingley and the Selby coalfield pits.

  8. Picked up my new Classic 350 this week, its been on order four months. Very pleased with the bike, its weight is 195kg but feels lighter.

    Superb handling, great brakes for an old farts bike with fantastic looks. The build quality is excellent and is almost vibration free.

    I couldnt up shift the gear lever as my boot wouldnt fit under the lever so I removed it and moved it clockwise one spline.

    The lever will not come off the splined shaft without dropping the lower sub frame a fraction but no drama the job can be done

    in less than five minutes.

    The bike is not on the road until March so will get a few miles under my belt and report back. I have a low mileage 2003 Fazer that I

    dont know if I should keep or sell.

  9. When I went for my first specs years ago I chose the frames, and was then told to go to the big mirror to have a look and tell them what I thought.

    This I did and told the optician I was a little disappointed as I could not really see a big improvement.

    They told me the lenses were just plain glass and I had to come back when they had been ground for me. DOH. 😀

    I'd do it but she needs a car for work and I just don't have the time to get it fixed before Monday morning. 

    I'm interested in your car when you decide to sell it. Just as it is on a trade sale basis. Whatever is wrong with it is down to me. Could you pm me more details? Thanks john.

    Yes the gear change is a very quick job, pull the drop arm off the splined shaft turn it to the next spline then re tighten the pinch bolt.

  12. Had a little play on the 350 Meteor, I knew I was going from a 75hp Fazer down to 20hp  but the difference was a bit of a shock to say the least.

    The handling was very good as were the brakes. The gearbox was very smooth but couldn't get on with the heel and toe change at all. 

    My boot didnt have enough flex in it to change up properly. Resting my foot on the left peg changing up meant I had to bend my ankle far too much

    it was almost impossible to make changes.

    Looking at the linkage when I got back to the dealer it looked as if the gear change pinch bolt was in the wrong position on the shaft. it needed pulling off the splines and refitting to cure the problem. The engine was smooth and willing and would lug if you were too lazy to change down.

     

    To sum up if I bought the Classic 350  I would have to sell the Fazer 600. If I kept both bikes I think I would always

    take the Fazer for the power and fun it gives. If I sold the Yamaha I would have to get used to the Enfield for what it is, slow down a bit

    and accept old age. I only started looking for something else as the Fazer is getting a bit of a challenge weight wise.

    The Enfield is 185kg as compared to the Fazer at about 220kg but it doesn't feel 185 it feels a lot lighter. The first thing you feel coming off the bigger bike

    is its almost toy like and very easy to ride. I have signed an order but the dealer wrote on the form that the deposit is fully refundable if I didn't like the bike

    when it arrives. John.
