  6. Hello folks, very short notice but i'm planning to get a quick of a quick ride in tomorrow morning at bridgenorth cafe - WV15 6QJ. To get myself some breakfast and a brew before work. i'm going to there at around 9am ish. anyone interested?
  7. do the DAS, you'll regret it otherwise. If you're worried about weight/controlling a 500, i had a sit on a GS500 and it was really light! didn't feel much heavier than my 125. you'll be fine
  8. i understand that i'm not critizising, i just wanted to know his opinion

  10. you sir, are crazy. out of curiosity though, what do you like about them?
  11. scooters to bikes!? Have a good go on an RS or NSR or something, will soon change your mind.
  12. ooo i saw like a water pouch thing in hein gericke today, only like a tenner. i'll try and find it for you... edit: http://goldwingcustomizing.com/detail.c ... t_ID=16573 BOTA BLADDER. wanted something like this myself for a while now edit #2: seems to only be available in america, or not available in the uk, could try your local HG or i'd do a pick up for you if you want.
  13. i agree it's short notice, it's just to see when people are available really
  14. bump. may be some time next week as i can't get the day off've work this sunday...
  15. Can't help with any schools in your area. You could ask some bike dealerships near you if they do training, or do some googling In terms of your CBT - You're entitled to ride bikes up to 125cc engines, not exceeding 14.6 bhp. which basically means any 125 4 strokes and 125cc 2 strokes providing they are restricted. You must also have L plates showing on your bike and you are not entitled to carry a pillion. To do you're DAS, you will need your CBT, theory test, then you may proceed to the two practical elements of the test. This will be carried out on a 500cc machine, and you may only ride this when accompanied with an instructor with a radio thourhg which the instructor can speak to you. In terms of the actual test, there are two modules, 1 & 2. Module 1 is all manuevours in an enclosed enviroment, involving: a slalom, figure of 8, swerve at 50kph, U turn, slow riding and an emergency stop at 50kph. for module 2 - it is just general road riding where you riding ability will be assesed. you will also be required to carry out a hill start and an angle start. Once you do all that, you're entitled to ride any bike you want! (this is all assuming you're over the age of 21 by the way?) P.S - For a 125 you may like the suzuki marauder 125cc, as it's quite cruisery - like the harleys
  16. i had extra tuition after my cbt, and we did some counter steering. i do it at low speeds for nippy turning etc. but when riding along normally i just look where i want to go and some how i end up in that direction. and when propper going for it, it's hanging off the bike to turn it (or trying to)...
  17. AGV - is for propper sunny rides, but with a purple iridium visor for extra coolness a fantastic lid btw. and the HJC is for general use, collage, work etc. don't want the agv getting knocked around or anything
  18. haha! Well MotheJ, Yammy & Vicki Have/Had their bikes restricted to 33bhp and have had nothing but good things to say about them. It all depends on the type of restriction, ECU, Throttle Stop (Awful), O rings etc. The ECU tends to work best, but this is only from what i've read. I have been reading up plenty though! They tend to accelerate well, but acceleration slows down the faster you go i.e. can't rev the bike as high. and are often restricted to around the 100mph mark, which is still plenty. EDIT: Just pick up a bike theory/HP disc to practice. You may be able to get a book or find out what you need to know online. but the only way to 'master' the hazard perception is by doing it. Some theory questions can catch you out like the max width of a trailer for a bike, tread depth on the tyre etc. but most of it is common sence "you have arrived at a scene of an accident: do you A: check for wounds B: offer them a cigarrette" etc...
  19. your ambitious i'll give you that! in regards to plan of getting a 600, at 17 you can only take your A2 restricted license. which is another theory test, module 1 and module 2 on a 125 cc. You will then be restricted to 33bhp for 2 years. So, you can still have a 600 if you have it restricted. Which is what i am currently in the process of doing myself. So just so you know, you'll have to go through the test process all over again. But as your CBT will still be valid when your 17, you may ride a 125cc on L plates. which you'd enjoy, i was thrilled when i could make it up hills
  20. seeing as he's on a 50 atm, i'm assuming he's 16. also, the moped test can be taken at 16, so i'm guessing this is all he can do atm due to his age. fair play for wanting to take the test though.
  21. well, anything 49cc or under, you're bloody if you're planning to take pillions on a 50 though!
  22. incredibly gay IMO
  23. by september i might have a 600! that looks like a propper nice ride, i'd be up for that if i get the bike sorted in time!
