  1. Yeah it's started chucking it down hasn't it?
  2. keep at it mate! it's my sixth attempt (i think) in a couple of weeks. not disheartnered. a bit pissed off, but i've done it so many times the nerves are virtually gone failed twice? pshh that's nothing!
  3. It was in MCN, apparently he's propper going for it on this track. and that pic is now his screensaver on his phone!
  4. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g227/munchies121/valentino-rossi-catalunya-03.jpg an absoloutley amazing snap!
  5. CBT - Max 125 cc on L plates. not exceeding 14.6 bhp. if it's a 2 stroke it needs to be restricted. the 25 kw thing you were refering to is the restriction that applies to the restricted a2 license. which is taken on a 125cc. if you're over 21, you can take your DAS, the same bike test but on a 500cc. this allows you to ride anything.
  6. oh i know i'll be much better for mod 2, i do plenty of lifesavers and look before i set away, just to get into the mind set. here's how i look at it, 6th attempt, my nerves are much better. 3rd time lucky, apparently not. 6th time = double the luck it's garunteed!
  7. had the lessons, i'm fine! my track record begs to differ but it was the difficulty of the RS combined with my nerves on that bloody Uturn! i nearly got through on the ybr, of which i had 5 minutes to get used to the bike. i did the swerve too quick and locked my back wheel when stopping, and that was it. i did the rest fine and i could barely even feel the biting point! it's just putting it all together on the day, examiner said so himself
  8. need to book it again - attempt number 6 that is! i know that next time will be it though! going to use their ybr again but have 30 mins play on it before hand to get aquainted with the brakes. it's become part of my weekly routine now!
  9. just ordered them (same day dispatch if it's before 2pm ) worth a punt at 45 quid or so.
  10. sounds about right, go for it. all i can do in the pitstop in terms of advice is check the killswitch
  11. My old black ones are starting to look a bit tatty, they're bloody comfy, but i imagine the more 'technical' designs could provide more support/comfort. I'm not looking to spend much, and these look pretty damn good for the price. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BUSE-RACING-LEATH ... 7C294%3A50 just wondering what people think? or if anyone has a pair themselves? cheers
  12. i'm left handed, and only weigh like 8 and a half stone, and i used centre stand fine after 30 seconds of the first time being shown how to do it.
  13. manual pushing - i'm crap at too. but you can push it out backwards, forwards to the next bay, then backwards into the other. if you can visualize is slow riding, just plenty of revs using the clutch. drag the back brake to keep it steady and try not to move the front wheel too much. just keep your head up. don't let my sig put you off the advice, i fail on the Uturn
  14. i'm 99.9 sure that's right mate. (the remaining 0.1% being a disclaimer) good luck!
  15. i cross over the line if it's a wide road, and i can see if there's any cars approacing from the opposite direction. i VERY rarely filter up the inside, only if i were to turn left and if the turning in mention is close. drivers wouldn't expect to see a motorbike on their left. imagine if they had to move over to the left due to a parked car on the other side of the road and oncoming traffic swerving around it. they'd crush you, on the right you have room to get around, on the left, you'd just go straight into the gutter. i try and sit evenly with the front car at lights, but accelerate to get in front of them when they go green (not cutting anyone up ofcourse) just need to look for junctions, cars turning right, cars entering your lane and swinging out (vans etc), looking for parked cars up ahead to see if cars will move out to avoid it. pedestrians walking in between cars and stuff
  16. good luck my mate! Up so early because if the excitement? can't think of any advice that wouldve helped me, other than too do your best to enjoy it!
  17. WAIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!! did any one check the killswitch?? edit: Hope the bike gets sorted mate
  18. ^^^ if you've been riding for a while, and keep clicking too early (just because i did) go into the test half asleep, it'll slow down your reactions and you'll get the timing bang on! i overslept and rushed to the test centre. didn't feel tired but kept nearly dosing off whenever the videos played, turned out it all worked out for the best
  19. have made another thread regarding this but just so anyone else knows that was interested, i'm afraid not. not disheartened, a bit of a pain in the arse but i'll perservere! 4 fails doesn't make you feel all that great but i'm going to try of a more suited bike. anything worth getting doesn't come easy afraid to say the chap after me locked his front wheel in the wet on a er6-n. ripped the crash bung clean off and carved up the tarmac. was the blokes first time riding in the wet, but whoever it was, hope your not too shook up
  20. Hey, I've got mine at 10:00, how about you? The swerve is fine by the way, I messed up cause I went way to quick and my toe clipped it. Done it in the wet and that's fine too.
  21. this sat nav was great. i have nothing else to compare it to but the directions given were clear, and given at the right times IMO. got me where i wanted to be anyway and what more can you ask for?? when it gave an instruction early, i often forgot what she said a couple of seconds after, but the reminder a bit closer to a turning was much better. even on the way home it took me through some short cuts that i usually take. kills off battery though. but the end of the day, it's a phone doing all of this!!!
  22. i've now here idea how i do it myself! as long as nothing locks, and i actually slow down, i'm satisfied with my braking. i think i mostly rely on the front break to reduce speed a little (my bike has no engine breaking at all!), leave the back break for slow speed stuff.
  23. birmingham , so quite a while to go i know i'll pass, it's just that i want it over and done with. hopefully i've realising the problem of looking at the white line will be the solution , i think i've had every examiner now though
