  3. I tended to find that when the carbs iced I couldn't accelerate at worst I wold just pull over and let the bike run or a bit. I haven't heard of any other bikes having the same problem....

You could try a bit of redex or something similar to see what happens, some people have said that soem high octane stuff will help. I think theres a thread about carb icing somewhere on here, if not pm me and I can send you all the info I have on carb icing...

  4. Thanks Tim, the bill for recovery alone is up to £130 hopefully all I will only have to shell out for fuel now...

Do you think its ok to leave the fuel filter then?

Slightly peee'd off as I have just done a major service and done about 100 miles with a new filter on

  5. Hiya, I am looking for a bit of advice....

A slightly bitter ex has decided to put sugar in the tank, thankfully she eventually decided to tell me before I was about to start the bike.

While waiting for recovery I turned the fuel tap off.

Anyway I was wondering would it be ok just to remove tank and replace filter. Obviously I will be draining the tank and rinsing it out with a bit of new fuel and then filling it up.

Will that be sufficient? As far as I can think any contaminated fuel will still be in the tank won't it?

Any help or advice would be very grateful thanks.

  6. I have tried top gear and lots and lots of back brake am almost back together and a trip to the garage it is going to be oh well I can get the bike hooked up to the dyno at the same time

  7. Nah sod that for £250 I get an oil change, filter change, fuel filter change, air filter change, plugs, and new chain and sprockets. I think that would cost a bit at the garage and would rather save the money and get the satisfaction of completing it
