Just a thought is your possible lack of performance related to something else? ie a fuel restriciton or just general wear and tear... After giving my bike a full service where I changed air filter, fuel filter, plugs etc the performance was much better....

Is the Vee Dub weekend that big? Why don't we just gate crash again
-
Vik do you know if there are still some places left to go? Whats the score with cabins/rooms etc......
-
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm maybe do we know how many are going yet??? Need to look at dates with work first though...
-
I should be up for this one, think I might just travel up for the day and have a good ride to and from...
-
I think I should be able to come along for this, I am not sure about camping but I am on ly in Oxford which is about an hour from Ace. I'll probably look at riding up and maybe meeting up with Yorbandit if he is going. If not I would probably have a blast up the A5 and meet near Coventry way or Norhtampton depending on timings etc.
Have you thought of going down the A5? I noticed you were near Coventry and Hinkley if your that way goes straight all the way down towards Watford I think. Akey is probably the expert on that road from his trips home....

Well peeps, when I was there I did have a good look for any indication what they were used for and there wasn't anything to say...
I would have to agree with Susie anything is better than nothing.
-
I had a good look and its the only thing they had not sure why. I think I saw a CE mark so they must be ok....
-
Good 'ole Lidl's is at it again and this time they have spine protectors going for £15 I had a look on the packet they appear to be the same as the sort for bikers although I am not sure... I am sure somebody out there might be interested....
-
I think I would be a yes, are we going to have a poll for it?

I had the same drama with my Ninja not long ago where the side stand cut off switch was playing up. I had no neutral light on the instruments and from what I could make out that was also causing a problem.... I gave the bit that goes into the front sprocket a good dousing with WD40 and strangely enough it worked again...

I tended to find that when the carbs iced I couldn't accelerate at worst I wold just pull over and let the bike run or a bit. I haven't heard of any other bikes having the same problem....
You could try a bit of redex or something similar to see what happens, some people have said that soem high octane stuff will help. I think theres a thread about carb icing somewhere on here, if not pm me and I can send you all the info I have on carb icing...
-
I have to agree with the Idle needing adjusting. I thought you only got carb icing while the bike was moving and you have come off the throttle. Well my Ninja is like that.

Many thanks Tim, your a great help

Thanks Tim, the bill for recovery alone is up to £130 hopefully all I will only have to shell out for fuel now...
Do you think its ok to leave the fuel filter then?
Slightly peee'd off as I have just done a major service and done about 100 miles with a new filter on
-
Hiya, I am looking for a bit of advice....
A slightly bitter ex has decided to put sugar in the tank, thankfully she eventually decided to tell me before I was about to start the bike.
While waiting for recovery I turned the fuel tap off.
Anyway I was wondering would it be ok just to remove tank and replace filter. Obviously I will be draining the tank and rinsing it out with a bit of new fuel and then filling it up.
Will that be sufficient? As far as I can think any contaminated fuel will still be in the tank won't it?
Any help or advice would be very grateful thanks.

We have Sprinter vans at work and I was shocked to hit a ton in those like

-
I have tried top gear and lots and lots of back brake am almost back together and a trip to the garage it is going to be oh well I can get the bike hooked up to the dyno at the same time

Sadly I don't think I will be able to make Ace Cafe, would've liked to be able to but I just have so much other stuff on
But anyway I am only near Oxford so the south coast is within an hour ahem
