  1. yes I did!! I've been looking forward to being able to do it lol, though maybe I need to perfect my technique a little?? who knows!!
  2. I've been out a couple of times on my new steed and no nods yet
  3. When I did my test (only last week) I was being taught to Mirrors - Signal - Position - Lifesafer - turn I was taught if you are not moving over the centre line then mirror checks are fine. (as you would only be moving closer to the centre line ready for the turn, not actually over it) I passed fine. However, stick with what they teach you I guess to ensure you pass the test
  4. Fantastic mate!!! welcome to the world of biking nice to have shared entering with you in some ways x
  5. Aww good luck, I was just wondering whether you had done it yet....just relax and pretend the examiner doesn't exist...you're listening to a Sat Nav and riding for yourself Good luck x
  6. Yay I can finally join this thread....bought this today...my new bike
  7. cheers...erm...tips.....I guess I just rode for myself....pretend the instructions you are getting are from a Sat Nav or something lol...and keep calm!!
  8. OMG I passed my module 2 test today!!!!! First time as well....we were out on the road for about 35 mins and it felt like hardly any time at all!!! I'm now off to catch a plane home from the Orkneys so will post a proper write up of the test ASAP. I just can't believe it!!!
  9. My parents were in their mid-70s when I got my first bike, so they were way too old to be bothered with worrying about anything other than what time is Corrie on? Ha ha fair enough then!!! Hopefully the feeling will pass when you go out on rides together!!
  10. I'm out on a 500 with my instructor so don't have a choice!!! But how cool it is riding knowing we are one step closer!!! Are you on a 125??
  11. well done to him!!! And now you know how your parents felt!!!
  12. Well done!!!!! I couldn't sleep either!!! Am shattered now as I have also just spent 2 hours out riding in prep for tomorrow!!! Dropped the bike today as well...but I don't care as I'm still chuffed about this morning. Now All we have to do it the last part!!! Go Us!!!
  13. Passed my Module 1 this morning!! Got to the test centre at 7.30 am for an 8am start!! The Examiner wasn't there so we took the opportunity to sneak in a few warm ups on the avoidance first. Once I was called into the room and all the paperwork checked we then started the test. I was shaking so hard I thought I would drop the bike during the manual handling but I managed to keep it together and complete the manoeuvres. Went 53 on the avoidance and then 59 on the E-Stop. When I finished the examiner goes 'Now you should have done that last time!!!' as it was the same guy I failed with last time. Needless to say I'm a very happy bunny right now!!
  14. Well I did it!!!! I passed!!!!! I'm so happy right now!!! I got a clean sheet too, no faults and did 53 on the avoidance, 59 on the E-Stop!!!! Got to calm down as I'm back out for 11 to practice for the Module 2 which I have booked for tomorrow!! How did yours go Chris?? Hope it was similarly celebratory!!
  15. don't have too much ale the night before, get a good nights sleep, and think positively, ensure you have more than enough time to get there, arriving late will put you on edge and in the wrong mindset and harm your chances, get there with time to compose yourself and relax... if your using your own bike make sure you have done your checks, and make sure you have fuel and been to the bathroom. and an hour to get there to fail, think positively and it will take you an hour to get there and PASS... failing to prepare is preparing to fail... All good advice. I'm off to bed quite early tonight to I'm fresh for the morning. Got all my paperwork ready and have spoken to the bike nicely!!! WE WILL PASS TOMORROW
  16. yeah know what you mean. Least you will be warmed up from riding first. One of the problems I found last time was that I had to jump on the bike and do all this and it takes me a little while to get comfy on the bike. I'm sure we will both be fine!! My instructor says if I get there early enough I MAY get a warm up on the cones before the examiner gets there....so I'm going to get there nice and early lol
  17. You are definitely not alone!!! have you had a lot of practice?? I've done a few hours worth but I'm a little worried as my Avoidance speeds are not completely consistent.....hopefully I only need to get it right the once though!!
  18. cheers, its tomorrow at 8am!!! nice early start for me then Hehe i gotta leave at 8am for an hours ride to do my Mod 1 at 9:30 Lol early starts for us tomorrow then!!! Good Luck mate
  19. cheers, its tomorrow at 8am!!! nice early start for me then
  20. well up here it gets dark very quickly....and earlier than down south. Its quite dull and dusky here now. I think it's more that they thought it might be ok, but the examiner said he wasn't happy with how quickly the dark came in last night and H&S wouldn't cover them if something went wrong. Waiting for a phone call back now to confirm the time for tomorrow. Its unusual as the test space is in a public car park, so they have to wait until out of hours before they can do the tests.
  21. it wasn't supposed to be until 5pm, but its been cancelled because apparently it's too dark to do it. Waiting for a reschedule but they mentioned tomorrow morning at 8am!!
  22. thanks guys!! Trying to stay chilled and calm atm
