  1. Well I didn't pass!!! Went too blooming fast on the avoidance and took a cone out!! Did it properly apparently and sent it flying!!! Never mind, going to try again in October.
  2. Thanks....I hope I will be fine.....just as long as I remember not to use my back break too much!!
  3. So this evening I have my module 1 test....I've been practising and hopefully everything will be fine, as long as I do get nervous!!! Yesterday went for a practise and was asked by my instructor to do a demonstration for some people of how a module 1 test we done. I had 7 people watching me, the other student, my step dad, my instructor, a driving instructor and as it turned out 3 DSA people!!! Talk about nerves!!! I did it all fine except for my Emergency stop, where I slid the back wheel due to too much back break. I ten to do that if I pass through too fast (that one was 59kmph) and revert to pushing the back break a lot to slow it down more (though most of the time I'm ok) So anyway, fingers crossed!!!
  4. Glad to hear that you enjoyed it, dont worry about the clutch control, it takes a bit of time to get used to as slow speeds Yeah...think I spoke to soon, I dropped the damn thing twice today!!! luckily when I was stopped but my instructor wasn't happy and ended the lesson with 'If this keeps happening I'm putting you bad on the 125!!' great!!!
  5. So today I went out on a 500cc for the first time......wow I loved it!!!! I still have issues with come clutch control but I hope I will sort it. Despite a few issues my instructor took me out on the road and I was AMAZED at how much safer I felt on a bigger bike!!! Didn't get blow about half so much, now I understand why people love it so much!!! BRING ON THE DAS!!!!!!!
  6. Don't worry about it, I've been a car driver for 8 years and sooooo much was just common sense and thinking of myself in a car if I got stuck!!! I bought this : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Driving-Test-Su ... 505&sr=8-1 just to help me out with the Hazard perception part, again that was easier than I thought as my driving experience really helped. So much is common sense so don't worry too much about it
  7. thats a shame I will be riding a 500cc Kawasaki but as I want to get it done in the next couple of weeks (before I go home) I may just do the tests on a 125 to get it done and ride restricted for two years. Plenty do it, can't be too much of a hardship.
  8. haha I'm exactly the same with the Revs!!! I'm thinking too much about car revs sometimes!! I reckon I've clocked up over 100 miles lol.....round and round a car park......
  9. Hey hun!!! we seem very similar, I too need more work on the clutch control, but mainly now when I'm moving off to ensure I have enough throttle!! The theory was easy, so I'm sure you will be fine if you are getting a lot of practise in :) Congrats!!
  10. Well done Welshtoffi, see we get there in the end!! I hoping I will be able to do my DAS soon
  11. Thanks guys, that's what I really want to go for So will push for doing that
  12. cheers, I was actually looking at a Honda CB500....my step dad thinks a Bandit would be a good option. I'm hoping that I wont find too much trouble with a 500, but my instructor says they need more throttle control and clutch control and sometimes I am too throttle shy, so maybe I might not manage.
  13. Well that's another bit under my belt.....just got to see whether I can fit anything else in before I go home in a few weeks time. I have two choices as it goes, 1 is to complete both parts of the practical test on a 125 then just ride something restricted for two years - Pro of that is I know the 125 I'm riding and may find it easier, Con is I would then want to get on a larger bike and have it restricted having never ridden a larger bike before..... Or I can try to get to grips with a 500cc and do the DAS.....Pro for that is obviously not having any restrictions should I pass and having experience of a bigger bike, Con is having never ridden a larger bike it might take me a while to master possibly?? Any thoughts or advice?
  14. Hi there, I have my car theory test done too, so bought a dvd to test myself on the recent theory tests. There are some motorcycle specific questions on maintenance, safety, rules of the road etc. Some I can remember ask things like if you adjust the drive chain what could it affect? How does carrying a passenger affect riding? what makes you more visible to drivers. There are some sites that offer free practice tests such as http://www.all4bikers.com/theory/theory_reg.php as does the DSA website. The Hazard perception part is no different, although I didn't do this the first time around. Hope that helps
  15. Enhanced Rider Scheme?? Thanks! Thought it might be something like that but never seen the anachronism before! I'm just guessing, but seeing how no one has put us right.....lets go with it
  16. yeah I may do that, I'm on an island at the moment and there aren't any up here for sale, so plan is to do bigger before going home, then I can choose
  17. Modules 1 and 2 next and not forgetting the theory test. Hoping to do them on a 500cc with direct access so don't want to be buying a 125 just yet
  18. thank you. I spent a total of about 5 hours on the road today considering that this time last week I had only ever been on the back of a bike, I'm really pleased with myself
  19. very very happy now Holding off on a bike for a bit as my instructor wants to see if I can go through the next parts so may just hold my horses a little while
  20. I've done it!!! I've passed my CBT very very happy now
