  1. I dont know why but faired bikes dont do much for me. But this is gorgeous, mega jealous! Congratulations.
  2. Hey, Passed 250 miles today since I got the bike last Saturday, and I've been away for three days so I think I've made quite good progress. Only error I've made so far was in the first day I realised I was riding with my foot activating the rear brake, knocked it from 2nd to 1st and it stalled the bike and locked up the rear wheel and slid down the road. I guess my main gripe at the moment is I dont like going faster than 50MPH, and I have had most of my fun blatting through town. I don't mind accelerating all the way up to 60, then thinking "ohh s##t" and have to drop back down - in my head the bike feels very light at that speed and feels like the slightest jump could knock it out. So far very much enjoying myself, but want to go a bit faster, more consistently.
  3. So I'd have to do it all over again on a DAS bike to get my full licence? Sod that. I guess it'll be a case of booking an instructor for each one then.
  4. Hi all, Just curious what the rules are behind doing the above? When I feel comfortable, I'd love to give the MOD1 a shot on my own, and potentially MOD2. There are a crap load of videos out there to teach yourself what to do, and how to ride better. Now don't get me wrong, I dont think I'll be doing this anytime soon, and I'm at the very earlier stages or being out on the road on a bike so I'm essentially crap and probably at my most dangerous right now. Are there any restrictions in terms of what licence I'll get or what bike I can ride?
  5. I'm in beautiful(?) Buckinghamshire! Not too far from me - if I organise anything that doesn't involve tearing around motorways I'll let you know. Yeah please do! I can imagine its the best part of having a bike is riding with others. Put 70 miles on the clock today, feeling a lot more confident! Sod filtering though I just sat in the traffic.
  6. So, I probably made the wrong choice but I'm happy as larry. I went out and got myself a CB125R, and now I've spent a day on it, I'm so happy I did. Its fast enough for me, sounds alright, and has a big bike feel, was cheap as chips to insure (£250). I know a lot of you probably think I've made a mistake but I feel I made the right choice, and personally think something bigger would of been overwhelming, even after a intensive course. I'm going to learn my craft on this bike, enjoy it and see what comes next but every day is a learning day. Next step is to go out on a ride with a group, what would be aweosme.
  7. Hey, So I had my intensive DAS course planned for next week, I rang today just to make sure everything is still all good and I was informed that my MOD2 wouldnt take place till mid May... I took a week off work, everything was planned to get done this week and I've been let down at the last minute, just told them to stuff it. So Ive decided, I'm getting out on the road this weekend and it'll be a 125, and I'm more than happy with that. I just can't decide between two bikes, either the Suzuki GSX S125 or the Honda CB125R. Would you lot be kind enough to point me in the direction or which one you'd get and why? Please dont tell me to get a big bike or was for my DAS. I know they probably suck compared but I've made my mind up, just can't decide what bike. Thanks all.
  8. Damn! I'll be sure to take some bananas with me. Looks like I'll be having an early night each time. I did ask if I could borrow a 125 in the evenings but their insurance dont allow for it. Only thing that looks scary is the swerve test.
  9. Yeah I've been driving for 10 years so hopefully that'll help on the road.
  10. Hello Just joined the forum as I've got my intensive course starting on the 15th.. super excited. I passed my theory and CBT a couple of weeks ago and jumping straight in, I have no previous bike experience excluding the CBT so its going to be a big week for me. Any tips that you guys would recommend? Am I potentially wasting my money trying the MOD 1 and 2 with such little experience? I guess at the end of the day it'll be a weeks worth of fun regardless. The plan is if I pass, I'll go and get myself either an MT07 or a CB650R, if I fail, I'll grab myself a 125 and ride on that for a few years so either way, should be a good week.
