  1. Sorry to hear your trade choice. Wait till you meet the absolute geeks that call them selves avionics techs. You'll get a choice at phase 2 about wether you would like to go avionics (electronics on apache) aircraft( engines and dirty stuff on helos) or electronics tech ( electronics on tanks vehicles radios and anything else the army has). It depends on your results from your trade exams too. Let me know if you want any info on REME or tech stuff phase 2 or basic training stuff.

  2. Did the coast to coast last year and it was immense. We did it 14 days and stayed in b and bs. We did it at Easter and the weather was fine really we got soaked about twice. The days were fine with the shortest at about 8 miles and the longest about 25. The elevation isn't too bad either. I still have the guide (a bit weathered but totally useable) and all the os maps (8 I think). Let me know if you need a borrow or any questions. I kept a journal cos it was so long and all the days merge into one.

  3. There was a guy flogging photos but by the time I'd packed the bike up he'd gone. I also had a hi viz vest on so the pics would probs be shite.

I did jump on the mountain but only a tiny bit my dad was watching from the bar and he said there was definitely air under my tyre.

What's knockhill like, it's a bit closer to me.

  4. Did my first trackday on Thursday at cadwell park and it was immense. Took the bike down in the van and had to set off at 4 in the morning. Got there for 7 and got the bike sorted. Had briefings noise test (passed easy with standerd but got a 2 bros ordered so might have to get a baffle for that). And then the sighting laps with an instructor. Had a 20 min session every hour up until 5. Started off nice and slow and didn't really kick the arse all day with the new bike and that. Buy the end of the day I was getting the hang of the track and my times were coming down nothing special though. Cadwell is a nails track and there's loads of blind entry's to corners so it's such a rush when you get a smooth lap. There was loads of crashes all lads on track/race bikes and all of them were first/ second lap cold tyres stuff. There were brand new rsv4s and a bloke with a matched pair of 1983 125 race bikes and was not much slower than me. Already got my next one planned. I'd recommend it to everyone because it's awesome. There's no pressure to go fast but it does make you want to rag it.

Just can't wait to do another

  5. Cheers went out on the new beast yesterday, it was immense. No faster than my old one but much 'tighter'. Got 8 weeks off work now so time to perfect my power rangers look and smash some track days in. Looking forward to smashing some track days in and embarrassing myself at the rally.

  6. Well I got back from Afghan on Friday and it's awesome to be home. I picked up a 2007 ZX-6R in orange while I was on r and r so that's ready to be thrashed. Also a massive thank you to all the forum members who sent me mags and stuff while I was away. That's from the rest of the boys too. I converted quite a few car fans onto two wheels. I'll see everyone at the rally in July but I have 2 months off work now and I fancy a few track days, the Nurnberg-ring and a trip to the IoM.

    Thanks again
