  1. Evening all! I have created a route that me and a couple of friends are planning on doing in the summer on some classic bikes, and would like any criticism or changes from yourselves!

this route, starting pretty much anywhere in manchester, takes you across the peak district, up into the yorkshire dales, across and round the lake district and back home again

any constructive criticism or things to look out for on our trip would be much appreciated.

    The trip is as follows:

Google maps set to avoid motorways

    Day 1 4hr 30mins

    Ladybower inn
    Midhope court - midhopestone
    The new inn - penistone
    Otley
    Blubberhouses
    Greenhow hill
    Barden bunk barn
    Stockdale R&J
    Wharfedale riding school
    Ribblehead viaduct

    Day 2 5hr 45mins
    Ribblehead viaduct
    Hawes
    Thwaite
    Stainmore
    Pooley bridge
    Troutbeck
    Hardknott pass
    Ennerdale
    Buttermere
    Borrowdale
    Briery
    The kings head - thirlmere

    Day 3 4hrs 10mins
    The kings head
    Troutbeck bridge
    Far sawery
    Newby bridge
    Devils bridge
    Wrayton
    Old moor road
    Russells lane
    Bridge house farm
    Stephenson RC
    Helks brow
    Cross of greet
    Slaidburn
    Robinson C&DT
    grindleton
    Home.

there are things on this list that are clearly not sight seeing they’re just marker points for ease of using google maps.

please feel free to use this if you think its any good!

  2. Had this helmet for a year and what you get for your money with this helmet is pretty good.

    Pin lock visor included

vents front and top( easy to use even with gloves on)

made from polycarbonate So stronger than typical plastic resins

    Retractable sun visor

slots in padding for glasses wearers

    removable padding for intercom systems

    sharp 4 star rating.

    all for around 160 pounds.

I'm the same as you, nod to everyone, TT fortnight is a nightmare 🤣  I've never had an ADV bike rider not nod, or nod back,  the one's I find that rarely respond are the scooter jocks ..... Maybe it's because they're so shocked that someone is actually acknowledging them on the road

Haha i can imagine. Im there this year first time 🙌🏻 I bet its different over there though being the land of the bikers and all that.

  4. Being a fairly new rider to the roads there is a stigma that comes with adventure bike riders that theyre very cliquey and “feel superior to other motorbikers” 😂 but i will nod wave to anyone on two wheels and do tend to get ignored by the adventure bikers more than other riders i dont know why?!

  6. Evening. I own a mutt mongrel 125. Ive been having an ongoing problem with it. It seems when i first start the bike wether i leave it for a minute or ten minutes when i pull away in first gear and come to a stop at the end of the road the bike will always seem to cut out. Once ive started it again and got it going with a bit of lag and got going through the gears it doesnt happen again. The bike is fuel injected ive checked the air filter its had a new coil pack and spark plug and an oil change. Where do i go from here?
