Hello
Iβm wondering if
Anyone can offer me any advice on classic bikes. I would like a classic looking bike up to 500cc. I have seen many online but concerned Re : repairs and parts should it require maintenance. Is it best to stick with a classic
English bike (triumph) are they easier to maintain and obtain replacement parts ?
thanks Iβm advance

Thanks I have been to M & s and fell in love with the Ducati scrambler on Monday I ll check out bells and Conway Iβm local and drive so not an issue.
This should be the easy part choosing a bike but difficult to know how Something handles when you canβt test ride. But I understand their rationale why

Thanks guys I really love the classic look of the triumph but thought maybe too powerful ?
Funny Re the Harley sportster as I had go in to the Harley dealership with my instructor after I passed my test and saw one in blue which caught my eye. I ll have another look. Also considering Honda nc750.
Thank you

Can anyone recommend good garages to buy my first bike from, can be used. (Newcastle and surrounding area) Sold my 125 and now after my first bike, I have no idea what to get and have been looking at the royal enfields ( but as a woman felt a bit high). Need to make Sure I get the right first bike .... so most garages to test drives and do I need to ring to arrange ?
Thanks Julie

Passed mod 2 this morning
Early start at Gateshead test centre with a lovely examiner who put me at ease straight away. Really enjoyed the ride, asked to pull over at beginning of test for independent riding ( I had worried about this but is so was so much easier than I thought). Instructions clear and precise with plenty time to follow. Up towards Consett and a couple of country roads, A1 and a few housing estate tight streets. Before I knew it back to ten test centre, a couple of minors noted and informed well done.
So pleased after kicking come twice on mod 1 , I found mod 2 so much easier and enjoyable.
Passed with Art of motorcycling North Shields, absolutely brilliant and highly recommend to anyone wanting to pass.Top class instructors, fun and bikes maintained.

Strangely enough my practice run wasnβt great before hand either we must have got it out or system
Round 2 hopefully before the end of July going to have a couple of lessons to get familiar with the route, maybe some early morning rides on my 125 needed.

Thanks Bender I do hope so, itβs good to know others have been in the same situation. What bike do you have now ? I just want something with a bit of oomph to hit the UK scenery... fingers and toes crossed for the next one

Hi everyone
Thank you all so much for your advice,
Some very valuable and funny answers
I have a 125 bullit but Iβm taking my test on a 600, do you think going out on this as one advises and swerving round things in safe zones would help? Just wondering with bike handling differently. I think it is nerves and apprehension , I have came into this game mod forties which I had done this years ago in my twenties

Thank you this is meant to
Be an enjoyable experience but I just cant avoid the damn come on the day
I hope I get to feel your relief too

Failed my mod 1 twice , no minors and then right at the end kicked the cone. Managed to clear it fine last two practice lessons, feeling embarrassed, anxious and nervous for the next one in two weeks . Any advice or stories from others who have passed would be very helpful ..... wondering if I ll ever beat this cone
