So I’m getting very nervous coming up to my mod 1&2 and was wondering if anyone had advice for calming down and focusing on the road prior to the tests, so I can focus as much on riding safely during the tests rather than worrying about every little thing thinking I’ve done the wrong thing, even now practicing positioning and lifesavers although I’m doing it correctly I keep beating myself up thinking I’ve done it wrong and I should have done this and that differently and this is on the road by myself just practicing, it’s causing a lot of stress and worry and I really want to get on my first big bike this year, any advice would be appreciated!

Observations are the main ones, I would say also be aware of your lane position/discipline. Since your going through training, your instructor would be giving you pointers on what they notice you are not doing so just try and have fun out on the road and the rest will take care of itself. (That’s what my instructor taught me)
...also welcome to the forum
I’ve been trying to make habit of my observations, but I’m not completely confident with the whole U-turning, I’ve had a go in a car park using three spaces as pointers and I’m able to do a uturn consistently after the practice
The space available in those three spaces is 7.3m and I’ve probably been doing it in about 7m, it’s just the shoulder check before committing to the turn, would they allow me to stop and make the observation before taking the uturn? Or would that be considered a fault? As I can’t actually manage to shoulder check and uturn in one motion as it sends me off balance since I’m not focusing on where the bike needs to go.
And thanks! Looking forward to exploring the forums
Hello and welcome
Thank you!

I mean theoretically you could take your full A license this way if you wanted to, you’d need a bike that meets the minimum for the full unrestricted license that can be restricted down to A2 restrictions possibly through a throttle restriction and ride down to take your tests on that and derestrict it on site but I’m guessing that would probably invalidate your insurance, but for an A2 I’d rather take the training and only do the tests if the instructor is confident you’d pass.

Gonna be booking my A2 training and tests in 3 days it’s my first time so I’m getting a bit worried, I’ve been practicing on my 125 and I reckon observations I should be fine with that but I’m panicking about it, anyone got any advice for me before I take my tests?
I found a CHEAP route to gaining a full bike licence!

I’ve got a level 2 but it’s mainly for cars but same can be applied for bikes too, if it’s a throttle-stop restriction it’s dead easy to remove pre-test, couple screws on the carb and it’s off, it’s pretty much just a metal plate that stops the throttle being applied 100%
