  1. Thanks for all the input guys, most appreciated.. Turns out part of the problem was the alignment of the slave cylinder. Because it has to be mounted 50mm away from the engine, to clear the drive coupling , it seems the slave cylinder does not completely line up with the hole for the push rod. So once the slave cylinder and rod were modified the push rod moved freely. Took all the clutch plates out and all were OK. Clutch now moves freely. Just waiting on a possibility of use of a field for testing and we should be dangerous...
  2. I do hope so.. the whole thing has been a bit of a nightmare. Original Blackbird engine had been left outside with number one cylinder open. it was full of water so scrap. All brake calipers, ZX400R tokico 4 pots seized. Brake master cylinder completely knackered. And then to top it all the clutch locked up. On a very tight budget so can't take a big hit if it needs any more than a rattle of the clutch plates.
  3. It looks like I will have to manually free it. there is no drive chain fitted at present. I can get the casing off and I should be able to get the plates out. The clutch basket won't clear the bar but if it is only the plates that are stuck I should be able to free them. Was hoping someone might have an easy fix for it but oh well. problem is I don't know the history of the engine. I think it was left in a shed for a while with the clutch not covered with oil. 2 and 1/2 engines for £500 might have been a bit of a bad move..
  4. Hi All I have a Bandit 1200 engine which is in an Autograss car and the clutch won't disengage. its on a hydraulic master and slave and it appears the clutch plates won't separate when the clutch pedal is pushed. The system is bled and the push rod moves but the clutch is solid. Any ideas as to how I can break the plates free without taking it apart, as there is a rollcage bar in the way. Cheers Nige....
  5. With regard to knob on fuel tank..... Sit further back!!! Sorry... Couldn't resist it!!!
  6. Going today!!!! Got half day so will be on our way around 10:30 ish..
  7. I watched the first part of the MotoGP from Estoril last weekend, on BBC, but after 5 laps I went and did something else as those 2, know NOTHING Cox and too interested in myself Parrish just got on my nerves. They missed so many obvious things and couldn't tell who was who. If they are going to have people commentating then at least use someone who has a vague Idea of what they are talking about... Also the pitlane skirt that took over from her majesty Suzi Perry, needs to learn a bit about the sport. talk about thick as pig ****.... Not very nice to look at either... I will stick to watching on Eurosport in future as that bunch of idiots on BBC haven't the first clue about how to run a show...
  8. I'm no softie but if I know its wet and I am going to get soaked I will give it a miss. If I get caught in the rain while out riding I don't mind, Its just a pain in the Ar5e. I don't like riding in the rain but will if I have to. I don't ride much when it's cold because I have joint problems and I would rather not prevoke them. I know people who ride all year round and if thats your idea of fun then more power to you but if it's cold and wet and someone calls me to tell me they are going for a ride and would I like to go, I would probably decline. I'm not a true all weather biker but I'm not a fair weather biker either. I'M JUST A BIKER!!!!!!
  9. Does anyone know where I can get an on line manual for a ZZR1200???
  10. The odd thing is that it is not a usual vibration. It has a few different vibes and various revs but this one has just started and got annoying. The only thing I have found was that the drip tube for my scottoiler had disappeared. I fitted a new one but was wondering if it might be stuck in the front sprocket. I will expose said sprocket and find out if its knacked or there is something in it.
  11. Went out on it today and found that if I closed the throttle and pulled in the clutch, the vibration was a lot less. I have had a similar problem when the front sprocket was knackered but I think it is OK. Bar ends are ok and all the rest is standard so should be ok. Seems worst when under power or on over run. Neutral throttle seems less vibration????
  12. Hi Peeps I have a vibration on the ZZR which I can feel through the bars and pegs. The missus feels it more on the back pegs. It sometimes makes my fingers go to sleep. I have changed the Chain as it was knacked and am now running a scottoiler. Sprockets are less than 2 years old and in good condition. I am going to check the front sprocket again though. I changed the rear wheel bearings last year but did not change the sprocket carrier bearing. Head stock bearings were shot so changed them 2 weeks ago. Front wheel bearings may be on the list to be done next. Wheels are balanced and OK. My question is; have I missed anything that could be causing the vibration????
  13. Bridgestone BT020 is not a dual compound tyre. The BT021 was and the New BT023 is also Dual compound. If they do your size I'd go for the 023.
  14. If it is not standard fitment or recomended by manufacturer it will invalidate your insurance. Try Bridgestone BT021's. they grip fine on the ZZR. You should be able to get BT016's in the correct size but they may not be recomended for your bike.
  15. Confirmed today that Edwards has signed a 1 year deal with Tech3. It looks like Toseland might be in the frame for an Aprillia seat in WSB.
