Mileage is 25k, already on a Hornet Forum and posted on there, just thought see what anyone thinks on here too. Is crankshaft problem expensive?

Noticed today after around half hour on my bike, it started making a loud.knocking noise from the bottom of the engine I think, the front end of the bike. It is loud in 1st and 2nd gear, then as you get quicker, the rest of the engine noise dampens the noise down, and it gets quieter but quicker. It doesnt make this noise when idling in neutral. Some other people have suggested problem with chain, tight link, or sprockets, as it gets quicker the faster you go. Also I can feel the vibration from the clunk on left foot peg. Any advice be great, cheers

Nice one on the Lid, with the tent thing, be interested to know once you get it, if is much better than an ordinary cover. -
Nice one, enjoy loosin the L plates! And def nothing stoping you getting a restricted 600 during your 2 years. Ull love it! I think restricted test is def the way to go.

thats the same as the MD80...if its a cheap one you want then there perfect i was happy with it, but the gopro i have now you can have more angles so i prefer that now... Its similar in terms of video quality, but battery is far worse, also doesnt react to light as well as the Veho. Hence why its quite a bit cheaper.

I thought 06 CBFs were fuel injection though? Obviously not, am surprised.

Can always try a Veho Muvi Micro DV Cam, cost around 40-50, and the sports pack has some useful kit for strapping to the bike. Very good quality too.

My point was that the CBT is not a test, it is training. Fair enough if did not stop, then on say MOD 2 it would be a fail. With CBTs, majority of people have no or very little experience with bikes, so whilst they are learning, things like this do happen due to nerves and such like, or bad habbits from driving a car etc. They should of just advised him of the mistake he had made, and advised further training is needed, but free of charge. I did my CBT with 3 different schools over a period of 6 years before I did my test and all of them emphasised you can not fail a CBT. Like others have said more and more schools are charging for extra training and they are not advertising this from the start.

Treating a stop sign as a give way is dangerous and as said would get you points . CBT will not give a certificate to someone who they condider dangerous on the road so I dont see the issue here ? But if the person has shown after that and throughout that he can ride a motorbike in a safe manner etc, then the certificate is awarded. CBT is not about passing or failing, its about getting the overall riding skill up to road standard. So technically you should not be failed on one thing. If you achknowledge a mistake was made and then show you are a capable rider, then you are entitled to a CBT certificate. Its pointless discussing whether he was wrong about the STOP sign etc. I made numerous mistakes on my CBT and was dreadful at times, but by the end of the day I was up to CBT standard. And they rightly did not fail me for mistakes, if they felt I wasnt ready I would of had to go back for more training at no extra cost. This def sounds like a case of a greedy company trying to make more money.

I would report it to the company owner who runs the CBT's, clearly wasnt doing his job properly. If he is the owner, than am sure he will soon forget about charging you for the extra training if you mention going to trading standards

Eight people seems a lot of people to have on a CBT, how many instructors were there? Also I agree with others, whole point of CBT is pay the overall fee, usually around a hundred pounds, and then they give you the required training to help you get your CBT. In my opinion if it was a trust worthy school, and honest, they would just give you the extra training at no extra cost. I have recently seen more companies and dealerships doing pre CBTs for 20 quid, basically a half day explaining how bike works, and get to have some experience of riding it around a car park, cones etc. This for one gives them an idea of whether someone would really struggle with a CBT or not. And secondly gives the person on a bike a chance to see if likes biking. Is pretty similar to the "Get On" scheme. From a personal view, my misses had a go at CBT when I got my bike, and she really didnt like it. But she was told at end of day, if she ever wants to try again, they will do it for free. So i would def point out to them they shouldent really be charging you more.

DOESNT CONTAIN ANY ROSSI SPOILERS NOW SORRY!!!
NearOn replied to fazerboy's topic in Racing and Track Days
I never used to make much effort to follow Moto GP but I thought would give it a go as I do watch F1 a fair bit. Just never had much interest in superbikes. Anyway just finished my late shift and watched the race, and was excellant and cant wait to watch the next one! 100% addicted!.................and I would agree this thread more about appreciating Rossi and not problems concerning spoilers. He is damn good to do that well with the injury he had so recently. -

NearOn replied to DeeJ's topic in Racing and Track Days
Looks like you had fun, good pics. Im guessing the bike is derestricted, so got the full 33bhp? as cant see the 15bhp overtaking an R1 on the straight bits. Was it expensive? -

MOD1 being Discontinued
NearOn replied to turnerj_2001's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
Only rumours I believe. As I know a few people who have got their mod 1's comin up in my area and someone else who took mod 1 other day. -
You cant even do the DAS route if under 21, so no chance of that. Just do the test now, you will be restricted to 33bhp for 2 years, then you can ride anything. As you have time to wait till your 21 might as well. Also see Cobbz post on doing the test, is excellant http://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/view ... 47&t=31635

If all else fails, hire a 125 for the MOD1, at least then you will know wont have a bike with problems.

What's the law on restricted bikes?
NearOn replied to marksmith's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
Someone was selling home made knocked up certificates on ebay for 25 quid, not sure if they still are. But couldent believe looking at his feedback, people were actually buying them. Anyone could make one. -
But would you actually go out with shorts, and tshirt on a bike in summer? If you would, you would count yourself lucky to be stopped and have them bore you about it. As said above, visors have to let a certain amount of sunlight in, why dont you get an AGV Stealth S4, they are very good helmets, stylish agressive look, and have an inbuilt sun visor, similar to the caberg helmets, but much better. Only my opinion though.

What's the law on restricted bikes?
NearOn replied to marksmith's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
Is all a bit vague when comes to 33bhp restricted. Im on this licence, and have looked a great deal into it. As said above, theres no legal requirement for a certificate. Long as bike is restricted then your riding in accordance with your licence. Having said that, if a copper stops you, and you have a certificate to show them, they are obviously more likely to accept your bike is restricted correctly. But for all they know you could of knocked one up yourself, so is catch 22 situation. It then comes down to if they can be bothered to take your bike and have it tested, which is a lot of hassel. It comes down to the situation in my opinion, if your caught doing over 120mph, on a big old sports bike, and you then show a your driving licence which is restricted, they are going to take it to be tested, is common sense. But if you ride your bike in a sensible manner, and dont attract the fuzz, then is highly unlikely. If you are stopped randomly for just a check, then they have no reason to suspect your bike isnt restricted if you tell them it is. This is only my opinion, and is something my misses who was in the Police agrees with. I had no intention of paying F1 International over 200 quid for a worthless piece of paper, and 4 metal rings, that cost very little to make. I got the rings myself. -
Too many lessons or not?
NearOn replied to Leeming's topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
No point redoing CBT if going to then pay for more training. Sounds like they trying to get as much money out of you as possible. Why dont you just pay for a few lessons with somebody, and then take test on a 125, and get restricted licence for 2 years before your CBT/theory expire. Because if you have not ridden in 2 years, then having restricted licence wont be a massive deal. -
Long trip that, though there is another guy on a 125 bikers forum who travels from france on his CG 125, to the uk to see his friends, and then rides up and down the country visiting them.
