Why didn't I re check the thread last night?! Got a whole bottle of JD, know what I'm doing tonight now
  2. What a nice gift from them! Mines now for sale, the goal before the year is out is to replace it with an XJR1300.
  3. ****Man Moan Alert**** So who's had it? I am 31 and never before have had it, well as far as I can remember. My parents always said I had them out as a young child but turns out they got me confused with my brother! So since Tuesday I have not been able to eat anything and incredibly difficult to even manage water. Been on antibiotics since yesterday and waiting for them to kick in. The only thing keeping me going is thinking what I am going to feast on when its gone for the lack of food this week. Also when I have heard people say "its like swallowing glass" in the past I thought yeah right cant be that bad..................IT IS!!! Anyway I know far worse off people in the world but needed a moan. Done
  4. I got them on in the end and guess what, its running! Finally! Though much credit goes to good people like yourself, Adam and my father in law who came and helped me. We had to put a new fuel tap kit on and vacuum hose but runs now, albeit somewhat clunky. Think going to try sell now as want something bigger as just feels bit too cramped on it.
  5. Ill sort some out when next get a chance, cheers
  6. Just doesn't seem much give in it or movement to slide any further into the air box rubbers. I'll try a good ol thump!
  7. Hi I have been trying to get my carbs back on, and recently had help from another forum member Eastangliabiker, big thanks again to him! But basically now I have them pretty much back on but when it comes to lining them up with the airbox rubbers I cant quite see how they pop in. I cant even remember how they sat originally. They have clicked into place on the manifold side. I'm guessing on air box side needs to be tight fit too in order to stop anything escaping? Cheers all
  8. Move to a secluded property with no neighbours. Sorted.
  9. Great choice of bike! Have fun! I would still have mine now if not of done this....... http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i200/odloveless/crash003.jpg
  10. This should be a sticky thread. Excellent setup and information there. In our previous house I wanted to look at doing something like this and there was very little on the net, luckily we moved and are lucky enough to have a garage at the bottom of the garden with mains power. And I tell you its so much easier. Got a fridge, power tools, lights, the lot. Once my back eases up hoping to get in there to work on my GPZ which is currently kaput. Anyway top effort on your lighting!
  11. Good to hear a positive outcome and was just a virus. Before a few months ago we had two cats that we had since we first moved in together 7 years ago. The cat that came first in 2007 was a very healthy outgoing cat, always up to something or sleeping, never much inbetween. Then around 2-3 months ago my wife heard him meowing in pain outside on the pavement. He had lost the use of his back legs so we instantly thought been hit by a car. But turned out he had a blood clot and no blood was pumping to his lower half, and we had to painfully watch him get weaker and weaker as we took him to the vets. I know a lot of people don't understand the attachment to cats but honestly having to see him in so much pain and lose his life was terrible. He was my cat too and not a day goes by when I expect to see him wondering along the garden fence. RIP Ernie. http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i200/odloveless/ernie_zps2bfea37e.jpg
  12. See, that's where you're going wrong... just walk oil through the house every now and then and leave it to the next bunch of poor sods to clear up, you'll get screwed out of your deposit either way Always got my deposit back in full. Guess comes down to tenants with respect and tenants who have been brought up with none.
  13. Its still sat in the garage since I tried to get shot of it. I want to keep the cans though. No wonder it ends up in the household waste or down a drain when is so difficult to get rid of.
  14. I have rented since leaving home 12 years ago and I have looked after all 3 properties I have lived in excellently and actually improved them at no financial gain to myself. Not right to tar all tenants with the same brush. But do agree letting agents a rip off, needs to be far more legislation for them to adhere to. They make up fees willy nilly!!!
  15. I never realised how difficult it is to dispose of old fuel. I have two Jerry cans of contaminated petrol and some diesel in another can I wanted to get rid of today as clearing up the garage. The local recycling centre turned me away and only option seems to be pay a company to collect or burn it myself (knowing that's pretty dangerous) which just surprised me a bit.
  16. Big thanks to Adam from the forum who came over today to help, aren't bikers great!, we found quite a bit of brown gunky stuff when we emptied the tank, so hoping was that causing it, everything else attached to the tank was fine. Will report how it goes when put a bit of new fuel in.
  17. Well today we made a decision. Thanks for advice all, I went for HP in the end with no final payment on a Skoda Fabia 2011 with 18k on the clock. We got 2 years servicing and mot for a good deal and a years warranty. Just for less money by a grand and a bit, it seemed much better quality than the Dacia range. We pick up Monday, a guy bought the focus for 550 last night. It went mental after going live on a certain no fee advertising site. A good day all round.
  18. Well Stu you were right there! We tried to fit the pushchair in the boot of a Panda, nope, not a chance unless we chopped it in half! So the friendly FIAT dealer guy said he knows just the thing that will fit our budget, the Fiat 500L, 13 reg, At this point I was slightly suspicious we could afford this 12k car. But he assured me it was in our budget, £140 max with the same as a deposit. 2 hours later after a test drive, various questions, all looking rosy. Off he pops to talk to his boss about the best figure they can get for us...........£150 a month with 2k deposit!! or £200 a month with £700 deposit, I'm sorry, did I not mention that I didn't want to put that sort of deposit down or go past 140 a month. OH YES I DID, you numptys!!!! So they wasted nearly 3 hours of my and my wifes day off and my 9 month old little boy had to sit there utterly bored. Really annoying as we were completely upfront with what budget we are working with. Anyway after some lunch we went to see what these Dacia's are like, basically Renaults rebadged. The Dacia Sandero was actually not too bad, for just over 7k, they could meet our budget with a 250 deposit. And it was surprisingly spacious, 30 quid a year to tax, and some other stuff about 3 year servicing and breakdown. Anyway very tempted, but going to see what could get 2nd hand wise for same budget. Any shouts on low tax cars that can fit our needs much appreciated Cheers NearOn
  19. I know I know, car question on bike forum, I do have a bike albeit not working currently but also value the opinions of bikers a lot more than my local spotty dealer! I was wondering if anyone has a new or newish Fiat Panda and what they think about it? Looking at buying/leasing one for the 3 of us, me the misses and the little one. Seen quite a good deal at £119 a month with £119 deposit too which would fit in our budget. Only looking as feel might be time to give up on the T reg diesel focus. Mechanically its sound, touch wood, only done 90k and inside and out looks fine. But underneath its rusted badly and each MOT costs a couple hundred, mechanic friend says matter of time before suspension just literally corrodes away. Plus it now costs more to tax it than its worth! Shame though as been in the family a long time, will likely SORN it and keep it off the road Anyway any opinions much appreciated or any other advise on what to do. NearOn
  20. I'm yet to use mine, but I'm after some light bulbs for the cage so will see what they come out at trade, thanks again Stu for organising it.
  21. Nope Im not, just trying to help the buyer out, I clearly advertised in listing is up to the buyer to check local customs charges. All sent now, so will see.
  22. The item is brand new. Think I will put the retail value as they could easily look it up once looked at customs form. Thanks for advice on postage insurance.
  23. Hi Be glad of some help if anyone knows about customs declarations I sold some stuff on eBay and sending to USA, I'm sending as gift person to person. It asks me for value, do I put the retail value or the value it sold for on eBay? I want to help the buyer paying as little custom charges as possible. Cheers NearOn
  24. If you choose RAC, I have a link to half price (work for NHS) and they are yet to ask for proof that I work in the NHS. PM me if decide to go with them, is worth a try to save some money. NearOn
