  1. Finally after waiting 15 days for it to be delivered by decat pipe from Danmoto is on. After a using a bit of exhaust filler for the slight blowing it fitted and treat and the heat shield went straight back on but had to buy some new nuts and bolts.

Started it up and it's ridiculously loud but I love it. I only reed it to about 4 or 5k and it pops, bangs and spits flames.

First test ride on it tomorrow and I'll make the decision weather to buy a PC or not

  2. I have the same exhaust as you and now excited to get this fitted lol

I have got a mate now who is going to help me and he was saying about the light that will come on. I can't wait to see how it goes.

I was thinking of changing the sprockets again as I did this on my 600 but was warned it will sit up very easily lol

  3. Cheers for the info. Yes I did hear that it makes a considerable noise difference to the exhaust and that's what I want too as mine isn't as loud as I would like it to be. I ride with a mate who has a full Akro system on his KTM superduke and can't hear mine next to his when started lol

I did get told you do gain even without the PC but can be more with it. Don't know if it's worth the £300 + for maybe a few more bhp?

The main thing I am hoping is it improves the torque line throughout the revs as the zx10's lack it below 8k RPM. Mine comes alive big time above this

I got my pipe from Dan Moto, have a look on their website as they do parts for all bikes

  4. I have just purchased a de cat link pipe for my bike after reading the advantages it gives these bikes, especially below 8k RPM.

Just wondering if anyone has ever fit one of these before? Any tips you could give for the install as I know from what I have read they can be a fiddle to link up etc.

I will be investing in a PC5 in the future to gain the full potential of the de cat but again from what I have read you can still notice a significant difference especially in exhaust tone lol

  5. Managed to get out last night and headed down to the Ace Cafe. The new chain and sprocket upgrade have made a massive difference. Don't know how much the jumper mod has made but the bike is much smoother and power seems to be delivered a lot better straight through the revs.

which size sprockets did you get in the end? i was thinking of a -1 on the front to give a bit more acceleration.

I did -1 at the front and +2 at the back (15/45)

Do this combo you will not be disappointed and to be honest and stopped me wanting an upgrade to a 750cc

  6. Managed to get out last night and headed down to the Ace Cafe. The new chain and sprocket upgrade have made a massive difference. Don't know how much the jumper mod has made but the bike is much smoother and power seems to be delivered a lot better straight through the revs.

  7. Thanks for the replies. I know the change will reduce mpg and effect top speed but I would rather have better mid range and acceleration as I look my twisty roads rather then a roads.

I have been struggling to find companies that sell these sprocket sets so have had to email them direct. I did find a renthal set on eBay but will see what the main dealers say first

  8. Hi guys,

I am Upgrading my sprocket and chain combo to -1 +2

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the rite direction to where I can buy sprocket and chain combos and also while I am here does anyone have any input into doing this?

  9. Here is a pic that i took today once i got my scorpion exhaust on and as you can see there is no where for the tail tidy to be fitted too unless i get it spot welded to the exhaust.

What you cant see is how we had to bodge the bracket to hold the exhaust up lol Cant believe how much hassle there has been with this, makes me wish i just converted it to a side exhaust

My only other option is to get my mates Dad to re-create the small brackets that are on the original exhaust, weld them onto the new exhaust and then i would be able to fit the tail tidy with no problems.

Would be good to speak to someone who has got/had the same bike and what they did?????

  10. Hi, I am in the middle of fitting an upgraded exhaust but during taking the rear bits off I noticed that the holes that the new tail tidy fit to is connected to the standard exhaust that I am taking off.

I did make the mistake in buying a bargain buy from eBay and the tail tidy bracket I brought has had top bit of the bracket cut off. It won't effect the fitting on a standard exhaust but because I have upgraded there is no where to mount it.

Can someone please tell me what tail tidy bracket I need to buy and if it is difficult to fit?

    Thanks

  11. Well being cleaned they where more flushed through. It did make a massive difference so i assumed they where ok.

I have found a place that can do dyno runs quite close so i will give that a try first

Thanks for the replys and info

  12. Sorry forgot to add that the carbs have recently been cleaned during the service.

I have been riding the bike quite a bit so the fuel is ok

Atleast you are thinking like me then with the carb balancing and dyno run.

What one should i get done first? say i got a dyno done first and then carb balancing would i need another dyno run??

  13. Its a 97 F3.

I only got the bike last year and i dont know the hitory of the bike. It does have a race can on it, a K&N air filter and my mechanic thinks its got a dyno jet kit fitted.

I was thinking that i should just get a dyno run done and see if they can fix the issue but didnt want to be wasting my money

  14. My zx6r has been running rough for a while now. At really low revs below 3,000 my bike really struggles to pick up but once it gets to 4000 it flys up and runs nice and smooth. Also if i accelerate up through the revs from say 5000 to 13000 it sometimes flutters in the mid range of it.

Anyway, i have been speaking to someone and he said that i might need my carbs re-balanced. I am just wondering if anyone has had the same or similar problem and what was the cause or if anyone knows anything about carb balancing and if it is a long job to do myself??

  15. Ah sorry i didnt write the question very well

The fitting of the exhaust is fine but i was talking more along the lines of engine mods?? I heard someone say about re-jetting the carbs to allow for the extra BHP that can be added with the new exhaust??

  16. For me i would say keep an eye in your mirror and dont ride inline with the rider in front

Also if you are going to slow down or change lanes make it very obvious with indication and life savers

I nearly had an accident when my mate decided to slam on the brakes in the fast lane to get behind a car in the left hand lane. He had no reason for it and he had no thought of me coming up behind  (live and learn i guess)

  17. Nice find, i will have to pop down my local Aldi and have a look

I have thermal top and trowsers from Primark for £6  i cant believe how much of a difference they make, i was really warm the other day when riding and it was the coldest weather i have ever ridden in

you might want to look at the date of the first thread.....

And my day was starting off so well..... :crybaby:
