You will just do the roads regularly to get back your confidence.

and spitting venomWouldn't know , I've got Avon Cobras with snakeskin effect sidewalls .
Snakeskin sidewalls, the bike will be wriggling all over the place then.
It would be disastrous not to mention

May your hope never fail. Good luck.

go for it , ideal first bigger bike , with them miles and if its like new its not out the way money wise, if you kept it for a year then sold it you'd get your money back and some
Great advice this is.

Since it's your bike and your money only you can choose whether to sell it, restore it, or modify it.
If it was mine I would try to keep it as original as possible, while replacing or restoring anything that's looking tired. I wouldn't recommend going down the streetfighter of cafe routes as crashed bikes often go that way - puts me off buying one.
Whatever you decide, good luck with it.
Might be worth keeping a diary/photo record of everything you do, for a future owner, and I'm sure the guys here would be interested in seeing the project as it progresses
I have a very tatty TDM same age as yours which I'll try to restore over the next year
I echo your sentiment, it is well put.

Maybe u should of checked plug type before post?? Br6hs?? I've just fired up my moped (2 stroke) which has lay since June not started, fired up after 20secs of pedal assist... Advice for future always turn off fuel on stroke and allow it to use float fuel up before storage
Something learned here, thanks.

I cleaned the bike, went to the garage and changed my headlight bulbs.

Why don't you take it back to the supplying dealer and let them have a look at it. I take it the bike is only 18 months old it could be something simple or a known fault. Has the bike been chucked up the road at all before the dash started playing up?
I agree this could be the best solution if the warranty is still applicable.

I know nowt about coms or cams but proper Garibaldi biscuits have real dead flies in them.

i have been in touch with the guy selling the frame and asked him how easy would it be to get a v5 for it and up to now im not getting any straight answers and he has now put the frame on fleabay so maybe a change of plan
Your intuition would be serving you right. Trade cautiously

I hope you avoid different chemicals for your visor. Though I admit I am a novice when it comes to chemicals.

Many people know the roundabout rules but ignore them because of their impatience on the road. They tend to think they are more in a hurry than other road users. I guess one must be so cautious as they approach one. And it is also true that people take time to read the highway codes anymore.

Thanks for the otherwise very informed post.

I know that dark tinted visors are for track use only but in reality has anyone ever had any issues with the law "during daylight hours" with having a tinted visor? I've seen plenty of people riding with them.
I was out a couple of days ago and the sun, low in the sky, was brutal, I was considering fitting a tinted visor for days like that, I'm fortunate that visor changes on my helmet can be done really easily.
I just want other people opinions who may have or are using them.
Why not try a Helmet with a drop down sun visor in it
I think this says all about it.

Its better with the other bulb in, more light but still a patchy light beam.
Earlier models were fitted with H4 twin filament bulbs, with tis setup both lights are on for both dipped and main beam.
I looked at getting a second habd headlightof this type bu they were expensixre form breakers, I think because its seen as an upgrade!
Were you able to find a solution to the patchy light beam?

It's a motorbike not a baby, you need to have a word with your parents
hahaha, though he just wanted to feel it.

Its quite self explanatory.. if you are pushing the bike then no helmet required.
if you are walking beside the bike (holding it upright) and the engine is on and turning the back wheel (a rather risky action). then you must wear a helmet.
I'm not sure under what circumstances that would happen... but. life is full of extremely odd occurrences.
Yeah, it is very clear from the excerpt.

Seems some detail left out, probably need to explain a little further.

Real winners congratulations, always looking forward to.

Amazing stunts mate.

There are plenty of rear wheels on fleabay why give yourself the grief and I doubt your swapping idea is a goer.
Sure, I do agree with you.

Awesome. Good video too.

If you are determined to change it then are you confusing the coolant temperature sensor for the gauge, which is a single wire to a sensor that earths out as the temperature rises...with the coolant thermoswitch which is two wires?
A simple check is to put the single wire to earth. If it's the sender for the gauge it will read hot when earthed out.
Thank you for this answer, I have learned a new thing.

Nice memory lane, appreciating how far riding has come. But now I think to have a good helmet, a proper jacket, and great boots are no option.
