  1. Sorry we missed you guys in Brighton on Sunday. We left Southampton around 11am and rode through Botley and Bishops Waltham, up to Loomies, then along the A272 past Petersfield and Midhust. Nice country roads. then we joined the A23 for the final stretch and hundreds of other bikers going down into Brighton. that's about 85 miles. From then on it took hours to filter all the way into town. Every single inch of parking space was occupied by bikes thoughout the town and the beachfront road was double parked on both sides for as far as the eye could see. There was more bikes there than I've ever seen.

Anyway, we headed to Concorde, but by then it was packed, so we just walked up and down a bit, then hung around until about 4pm before heading back to Southampton via the A27.

We'd be up for another meet if one's being organised. We often go to Portsdown Hill of a Sunday morning for a cup of tea and a bacon butty. Maybe we could organise a run from somewhere in Mid Sussex to Portsdown?

  2. I badly want Haga to win it after years of trying. He came so close last year. If you've been to Brands, Assen or Donny, you'll know he has as many Brit fans as JT, and certainly way more than Bayliss. We love him coz he's a win-or-crash-trying type of guy just like Chris Walker.

I'm going to Assen again this year and the crowd always goes crazy for him whenever he overtakes someone, even when JT was racing and there are always a lot of Brit fans at Assen.

However, after just two rounds, I can't see anyone challenging Bayliss and Ducati this year for the title. No-one else is as consistent. Already Haga, Corser and Biaggi have had DNFs and will need Bayliss to not finish a few races if they hope to catch up. I hate to wish a crash on any rider, but its going to take something similar to last year's crash to slow Bayliss down for a few rounds.

  3. T'was a dry sunny day up til about 3.30. Then it chucked it down!

We did a lot of slow work to get Sam used to the bike first thing, then headed over to DG20, but we just missed you guys. We stuck around for a cuppa, then went over to Infinity to buy some of those 'love handles', which helped a lot. Then over to ADT Kawasaki to order a monorack for Jo's topbox and a pair of crash mushrooms. We then went for lunch at the Cowherds before going over to Eastleigh to visit a friend. We were just getting ready to head over to Portsdown Hill when the weather started to change and by the time we were passing home, it got cold, dark and wet so we went in.

Again, it was a pity we didn't catch up with you, but it was a worth while day as Both Jo and Sam are much more confident riding together, so next time we'll be up for it....

  4. Mrs G and I have just taken a ride along the A27 to Portsdown Hill. This is the road that runs along the ridge of the chalk hills overlooking Portsmouth.

There were a few laybys to stop at, but one big one with Mick's Burger van there. Even unplanned, there were a dozen bikers there. We're planning on going back tomorrow morning for a bacon bap and cup of tea.

If anyone reads this and fancies the ride, we'll be glad to see you there. I'm on a black Blade and Mrs G has a silver Yammy YBR125.

    Cheers,

  5. Hi Kev. We've had three South coast meet ups. Two in the New Forest and another in Midhurst W Sussex. Plus a few meet up in Bridport on a regular basis. I live in Southampton, which is central for most places. Others to contact are Wow, Mel64, Justarider and Borile.

    Cheers for now,

    G
