  1. Bummer - gutted for you!!!! :(

Don't give up i had an awful Mod1 experience long story short, emergency stop, i ended up on the ground wondering what had happened. I was bruised in places i didn't know existed, i had a graze on my hand as my new gloves ripped, my new wind and waterproofs ripped, and i had ligament damage to 3 of my knuckles. 2 weeks later though i was back on the bike and i passed my Mod1 (even though i still couldn't bend my knuckels properly) it feels like crap when you fail but keep trying, you will get it in the end!!!!!

  2. Reading peoples track day experiences I have an urge to do a track day I ask as a newbie - (I passed my test in Feb10 and have only done just over a 1000 miles since passing).

So I'm after the the opinion' of the experienced amoungst you; are track days better left till you have more miles under wheels or should you just go for it??

    :bike:

  3. Mod2:

As i passed Mod1 just before Christmas i decided to wait till after Christmas to do Mod2...

My Mod2 date 23.02.10 practised when could with the winter we had not as often as i'd have liked! Had a few lesson before the test, and on one of those it started to snow and was bitterly cold. The days before my test the snow had stopped it was a little warmer and brighter and i'm thinking thank you.

The day of the test, bitterly cold again and very grey looking...

Arrive at test centre, 35mins later still wainting to go out there had been a problem with the previous test and they were running late. I'm now really nervous but trying to stay calm... We eventually get out and it's cold 10mins in it starts snowing, i start thinking thank goodness i'd done a lesson in the snow. I forget to cancel an indicator and have a bad experience on a corner but manage to correct it. I always spend too much time at a round about as my glasses fogged and i couldn't see. We head back to the centre and i'm convinced its a fail. The examiner asks me into the room and says bring your instructor at which point i know i've failed :( .

The examiner than says I'm pleased to say you've passed... I was still in shock as we rode back to the training school !! nailed Mod2 first time pleased with myself.

  4. Thought i'd post my Mod1 experience: How not to do it!!!!!

Attempt No1; Nerves got the better of me i clipped a cone in the slalom and was just terrible...

Attempt No2; Nerves again this time kept them under control, everything going perfectly even the slow walk which i always struggled with was perfect, got to the last manouver emergency stop never had a problem with this before only got to nail this. Started on the approach next thing i remember is thinking why am i sat on the floor. Bike broken, Wind and waterproof's ripped, gloves ripped, my instructor running across the compound.. Lots of bruises in places i didn't know exsisted, a graze where my gloves ripped, and some ligament damage to my knuckles, and the damage to ego with everyone else watching..... But i did get the speed 55mph...

Attempt No3; two weeks later still in pain with knuckles but the swelling had gone and determind this time i refuse to give up.. passed with 1 minor, very happy....

    On to Mod2.....
