  1. At least he won't be biting that nail for a while!
  2. I think I'll be there, but I've just been told that I might have to work Fingers crossed. Where is the fishponds and does do what it says on the tin? Eh? Well does it?
  3. Dunno yet, to be honest I feel a bit of a two hat afterall it was my idea to do the original trip for charity. The charity in question haven't got back to me as yet. Just for me the thought of steady riding in France seems more appealing than 3 days of eleven hours hard at it in the saddle. I'll have to make a decision though.
  4. How come you wouldn't go to France??
  5. Feel a reet two hat now
  6. Yes I agree, but a couple of mates who I asked are up for the France jaunt now and so is the missus!
  7. Might make some chocolate eclairs?? or a Treacle sponge anybody got any custard??
  8. Right we got a mixed bag in terms of response 3 not so sure, 1 pulled out, 1 for Definate JOG and 4 wanting to go to France, then me?? I would prefer to travel to France, but I hear what other people want to do. I think we ought to get logged on at the same time and meet in the chat room and thrash it out or meet up somewhere and discuss. Thoughts please folks
  9. So what's the craic then? We have to bring along a pudding?? Where we meeting and what time??
  10. Looking like the majority want to go to France People who have got back to me wanting to go to France so far; Techno, Pumilio, Rob, Voodoo, myself and the missus. I'll give it until the end of the week and then we'll make a decision and get something booked. I've checked some hotels out in Calais and you can get a twin room for €40!
  11. I've looked on chunnel website and we can get a midnight-6am train an the Wednesday and it's only £24, coming back is the same so technically we could do it for £48.
  12. Channel tunnel going out in the afternoon and coming back in at lunchtime is £70 What dya reckon??
  13. MMmm good point Drew I have been thinking about that recently. Precisely what would you do? Something that has to be sorted out and agreed on prior to the trip.
  14. Ok I'll get hold of everyone who's put their name down and ask them what they want to do and I'll get some prices sorted out. Chunnel was quick and easy when we went a couple of years ago.
  15. Yeah Rob point taken. If we did a jaunt over the water it would still be on the same dates. Thing is I don't want to let anybody down as a few people were just going to do part of the trip. So far Techno said he'd go to France and you if you're up for it. It's just when you ask yourself do I want to ride the length of our country or do I want to go to France for a few days? The trip to France does sound more appealing to me.
  16. Right guys....... I've had a thought Please bear with me. Been chatting and a seed has just been planted.... For the cost of the JOG to LE we could have a few days in France for the same money and probably the same(ish) mileage. I know we were going to do the JOG-LE for charity and it is/was going to be a challenge, but what would you rather do?
  17. touche
  18. That's why I suggested it, it will be tough for the folks doing the full trip and beleive me it will be a massive relief to NOT throw a leg over your pride and joy! But that is part of the challenge. I will be stopping an extra day! 8) 8) 8)
  19. Rough Itinery of what's happening as requested. WEDNESDAY 20th AUGUST setting off from Leeds, putting in a longish day and spend the night in a B&B at Inverness. THURSDAY 21st AUGUST set off for JOG or as near as probably B&B maybe camp? FRIDAY 22nd AUGUST (my birfday) Set off from JOG stop over just south of the Borders probably camping. SATURDAY 23rd AUGUST Set off from Borders and stop over somewhere in Wales probably camping. SUNDAY 24th AUGUST Set off from Wales for the final leg of the journey and reach Lands End. Stop at a well deserved B&B drink and be merry. MONDAY 25th AUGUST Up to you have a day off the bike and chill out or head home? The choice is yours/ours/suggestions welcome??? I know it's a bit rough, but at least we now have a primary plan in place.
  20. Tis quite a way up but I'm sure we'll manage it We might even become fully fledged members of the iron butt club
  21. Right I'm going to see if I can get something booked for the trip I was thinking the like of somewhere near Inverness for the first stop over on the way up. I've seen an advert in TWO mag that take group bookings, is everyone ok with that long leg on the first day????? If anybody is coming up from further south than Leeds you're welcome to stop over the night here.
  22. I too might be up for it! Just found out that I'm not working that Saturday. Anybody else going from "Up North"?
