I currently wear cheap gortex but i keep getting a rip on the part where my boots get covered on top. Iv stitched it up 3 times now thats enough. Anyway im thinking of getting some leathers down hein gerick. My budget will be around 600-700 so i hope thats enough, but if it aint i may end up spending a bit more Anyway my questions: 1. Can you get leather that is waterproof aswell, rather than buying a seperate waterproofs on top. 2. I will be wearing this all throughout the year, so what will i have to look out for when buying it eg vents

The furthest ive been is about 220 miles, and i still felt fresh. Im really into my fitness so im sure that will help with long riding endurance. I dont really want to go up a motorway, id rather enjoy the journey up to Applecross.

From Bridgwater, Somerset it works out about 650-700 (no boring motorways) miles to Applecross. Im not quite sure how long that would take, and how many hotels i should be stopping at. Then theres riding around Applecross and maybe ill get to Joan o' Groats thats got to be a couple hundred more miles. So im not sure how many miles this will end up, but at a guess it could be looking at 1500 miles, is that right? How many miles a day should i be looking at doing, how much on average are hotels for the night? How much should i save up for all of this, dont forget food, drink, petrol and hotels?

Nowt stopping you! Get on your bike and ride, if you need any info give me a shout I do have a question, most probably dumb but here goes. How come you had to go on a ferry to get near applecross or was it just for fun? Edit: Was there many hotels up there, as i dont plan to do any camping.

Went out to barnstable which is about 60 miles from where i live. I had my new satnav and wanted to try it out. I got there and thought lets try somewhere else, i cant remember the name but it was an extra 40 miles away. I got there and looked at my satnav and seen truro "hey i know that place lets go there it cant be far its only a couple centimetres on the screen". So off i went nearly two hours later i was there, heres me thinking it was gonna be a half hour ride. Now it was 5:30pm when i got there and i thought damn i got to get home its getting dark. I clicked Home on the satnav, and it estimated it would take me to 8:30pm to get home. By 7:00pm it was really dark i was on the motorway tailing speeding cars so i could see better, i was scared, excited and laughing all the way home. When i got home i was so pleased with myself and of course felt a little dumb thinking two centimeters on the satnav wouldnt be very far
