Hello
I have the official Honda topbox on mine; one like this, in 26L:

When I park up at the station, I can fit my gloves, textile jacket and trousers in it (with the waterproof linings in) - with the helmet in, I can fit the trousers but no way will the jacket fit. Perhaps the larger 35L would manage it, but I don't know for sure.
Unless you fill your topbox with bricks, I doubt you'll notice any difference - my security chain is 7kg on its own and I didn't notice anything other than more rattling

My 'official' riding boots are Frank Thomas Ugly Wellies (well, not really, but that's how I think of them - they're Aquatec something or other).
The problem I have is that the shops I look in regularly never have any size 9s (yes yes I know) so I try on mens boots, but they won't fit around my calves...

Another recommendation for the Vango Tempest (although I went for the 3 man as I'm no stranger to a square meal and usually cart lots of stuff around with me).
The only thing I don't like is the way the front 'door' manages to dump rain on you if you haven't perfected the 'Vango Flick'. Also, get some different tent pegs, the ones that come with the tent are crap.
Otherwise it's brilliant, packs down to a reasonable size, actually does go up in 10-15 mins, isn't that heavy and is very stable once it's up and the tension straps inside are adjusted to suit.
The model I got is down in price as it's so last season dahling: http://www.nevisport.com/pr/2009/tempest-300-tent
The new one is here, looks like they've altered the door flap: http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/vango-tempe ... nt-p139967
