  1. Simon has kindly pointed you in the direction of the service schedule Looks pretty straight forward Check the tyre pressure weekly and condition of the tyres ( for nails 'screws 'cracks) Clean & Lube the chain approx every 200 Miles clean with Kerosene ( paraffin ) & old toothbrush then dry with a clean rag & lube with Gearbox oil EP90 Drip the oil on to each of the links and rollers and leave to soak for a couple of hrs ( might want to put a piece of cardboard underneath ) then wipe with old rag If you have a center stand I usually run the bike in gear to let any excess oil sling off then clean off the rear tyre of excess oil Change Engine Oil & oil filter every 6000 miles 10W40 oil Replace spark plugs +change the air filter every second service 12000 miles Others will be along to add to the basic maintenance
  2. Would also be helpful to say what bike it is as some might go for a bit longer between servicing
  3. Would the Crank bearings cause it not to start ? I dunno don't think so I wonder does the op have contact with the previous owner to get more info as I suspect they may have picked it up wrong ( possibly ) Sorry I'm not being insulting I just think you might save yourself tearing in to the engine if it's not needed
  4. Thanks It was early enough in the morning about 8 or 9 I like to get out & back before the loons wake up
  5. Nice Bike You cant beat a nice spin out to blow away the cobwebs
  6. Is the bike lowered by any chance Possibly top run of the chain hitting the swing arm on deceleration Just my 2p worth

  12. Yep wouldn't blame you Nowhere is safe
  13. Of late there seemed to be no action at all from police ( Gardai ) here in Ireland regarding motorbike theft and general scrotish behavior Then Sunday a policeman ( Garda ) was hit and killed by a motorbike at a speed checkpoint Later same day another Guard was hit by a stolen bike and got a broken leg Gardai ram scrotes on scrambler in the park Dublin city center Armed Garda chases Scrote down the street with gun drawn after motorbike theft attempt
  14. +1 for peace of mind
