If it's been present for 5 years and the bike is still running fine I'd just carry on ignoring it mate

Yeah I saw it , poor bloke got 22 months while the two scumbags walked away with community service and suspended sentences! I read this morning that the thieving bast*rds are also claiming compensation from the blokes insurance for injuries in excess of 750k

I did similar myself albeit a shorter gap between doing cbt and doing DAS, I was worried about having no experience but turned out to be worrying about nothing , I did 3 days with MOD1 on day 2 and MOD 2 on day 3 , best of luck with it all

In need of new tyres and looking to save a few quid by ordering online ... any recommendations on good websites to use ? Found tyres I'm looking for on my tyres.co.uk but their reviews on trustpilot are pretty mixed ! Anyone had any dealings with them ?
Any help appreciated

. Stop talking about it and get on and do it. Book your cbt, complete it and speak to the instructor, he'll advise you based on your ability to learn.the
Then buy yourself that gixxer 1000

As others have said .. its different for everybody , have a chat with your cbt instructor on the day of your cbt and see what he would recommend for you (he would of been watching you on the bike all day ) . I did this and went with what the cbt instructor advised , I had a days training for mod 1 with the test the next day in the morning , the rest of that day was mod 2 training , mod 2 test was booked for the following week , had another full days training with the test the morning after and passed ! Best of luck with it all .. its one of the best things I've ever done and well worth all the nerves and worrying beforehand!

Phoenix do a trail riding course on Salisbury plain , think you need to be a full licence holder though so might not be any good for your nephew/daughter
