My personal view is that cyclists should hold a license like any other road user.......and that license should be subject to the same endorsement scheme as all other road users!!

I must admit to ignorance at this kind of thing. I just put the Dead Kennedys logo on for absolutely no logical reason and didn't bother to learn how to put something more appreciate on. It would be weird to change it now.

Just driven from Cambridge to Felixstowe (luckily had the cruise control on) and saw the dreaded camera flash 5 or 6 times on the way - twice around A12 junction so presumably one each way.

Ride safely and in accordance with the posted speed limits.

To be honest I don't know of any cameras around both the A12 junctions. I'll look out for any on the east junction as I commute past that one.

Listening to a Syrian tonight, it is a difficult subject. He said IS needs removing, but he feels sorry for the young naïve, unwitting fighters. I think IS are dangerous and direct action against them is good, but I don't know why the government switches this to snooping on us so much.

I'm more likely to be mugged by a chav or robbed by someone desperate for their next fix than attacked by a radicalised believer.

Plus how are we going to be perceived? How easy will this action be manipulated by others as "the West helping the Shia's to attack the Sunnis"?

A friend of mine has the sea rolling onto a beach on his foot.

The sea is on his little toes and rolls onto the beach along the outside edge of his foot and there are cliffs tattooed on his outside ankle.

Me too. Not using lights during "daylight hours" seems to be a Suffolk trait I've noticed.

Going to work this morning in heavy fog passed a light grey car with no lights on doing 60. Bad enough you might think but riding about three feet behind his back bumper was a motorbike, also with no lights on.

They must come from Suffolk.

Driving on the way home from the shops. A bit of a squeeze between parked cars on my left and oncoming cars on my right. One car passes fine, then another and then the third almost rams me as she's too busy looking at the shops and not the road.

I thought "Brace for impact" as it was either her or the parked cars, but she veered over to her side at the last moment. Phew!

The nob who desperately wanted to get in the left hand lane approaching Felixstowe, so I slowed down and waved him in. Then when we turned off the A14, he tried to move to block me from overtaking. So if I see him try that again (however unlikely that is), he can stay where he is and come home via the port. What a selfish nob.

I'm afraid sense and tax are words that don't go well together. When I work with anyone who is about to start tax, my advice is "Just learn the rules and don't try to understand the logic."

The chancellor/treasury change the rules when they want and I'm sure any system of rules worked out by bureaucracy isn't going to be any where near perfect.

Then why is it called acid?

 

It is classed as an acid on the PH scale, which categorizes substances to PH neutral. It will be alkaline to anything that is more acidic than it, on the PH scale. As stomach (hydrochloric) acid, which would be diluted to various extents depending on stomach content, is higher than phosphoric acid, it means that phosphoric acid is alkaline to hydrochloric (but still technically an acid).

And I'm not saying coca-cola is good by any means, but if one were to drink it, they would seriously extend the health of their teeth by neutralizing the acid with something like baking soda or milk of magnesium.

Sorry to get so nerdy. I don't get that. Generally acids are reactive as they are hydrogen donating and bases are hydrogen acceptors. Unless one acid was exceptionally weak and the other exceptionally strong, mixing them wouldn't necessarily mean they would react.
