After cleaning the carbs, they had to be mounted back onto the engine of course. It sounds so trivial, but pushing them all together into the rubber suction ports and managing to get the air box onto the carbs from their other side can be a bit tricky. So here a quick path on how to get it done:

Hello everyone,
you can probably imagine, how it is, when you have a bike standing forgotten 10 years and you get the great idea to bring it back to life... Well decided to go through this and the first thing was cleaning the carbs. There were jets clogged, slides seized not moving at all, even the needles didn't wanted to move and the needle jets were oxidized. So complete disassembly and cleaning took place. Here is how it worked out:
Have a pleasant evening

Bandit 1200 - valve clearances adjustment after 10 years
in Old Motorbikes, Projects and Restorations
Posted
Hello everyone,
to continue on the project of resurrecting the old good bandit, there had to be valve clearances checked and adjusted. It went well, until a plastic nut of the gauge feeler set decided to fly and landed straight and deep into the engine where the timing chain is driven by the crankshaft. Very pleasant situation that nearly required me to learn distance surgery Well, here is how it went:
Beside of that I was surprised that almost no adjustment was needed, nearly all of the clearances were ok, just two needed to be done. The rest was just a check.
Enjoy and have a great day
